Robbie / Snow In London

Do you really never get snow there? I thought it was damp and kind of cold there all the time. I'm not well travelled though. Well, not across the pond anyway. I bet London was beautiful under a blanket of snow. I've always thought New York was beautiful when it snowed. It hides all the grime. lol. I live in the appalachian mountains so I see more snow than I want. I'm surrounded by ski slopes. I think there are 5 in my immediate area. I like it here, though. I usually like the people too. I've just been consorting with the wrong ones.
..Terrapin..
..Yeh its nice to see the roofs and streets covered in snow..brings me back to my younger days at xmas and that lol..but it dont snow often ere at all..maybe twice a year at this time of the year..london is kinda a grey place to live..the summers are good but it dont last for long enough..maybe june until sept..but even through them months it will rain here and there..then ya dont see much sun after that..more rainy days or just grey days..it would'nt be london without them kinda days lol..thats why i love it here..its got character
..if ya can call it that ?..i live on the 9th floor by the thames..so i gotta good front and back view of london..looked real good this morning..brought back the kid in me lol..sounds ok where you are..your right thou about the people we get involved with in life..but we all make mistakes in life huh ?..Robbie..
Like me lovely bryn.......I prefer to think of london with bob cratchitt, and tiny tim and streets fullof snow.......oh but then i want to head around the corner to picadilly and see edie sedgewick types muckering about amidst psychedelia everywhere with red phone booths and double decker buses..........then i want it to be like peter pan and fly across the rooftops, past big ben and the palace and all...............probably not a good thing if i ever do get to visit, would be quite disallusioned I'm sure ;-)

Robbie,
I was down in London Tuesday, I'd left snow and it was minus a thousand degrees in Liverpool. I get to London and I'm so hot I have to buy a pushy bag to stick my coat and jumpers in. I meet up with some Londoner friends who are complaining about the cold. They think I'm hard and a bit nuts cuz I have no coat.

Today I leave Liverpool for St James's pakt because we've got an away game and boy oh boy it was minus ten thousand and the wind and rain were arctic. They nearly cancelled the game and half the Newcastle lot were in T-shirts now that is hard.

Dang, Jazwan you guys ARE hard over there across the pond......LOL....no coat and all?

Ain't it always colder where we live.....my news says it's minus such and such...I'm bundled up like a papose or sumptin......the whole deal.

Undies, tights, thin socks, heavy scks, Timberlands, body suit, sweatshirt, heavy arse coat..............AND.....

My Chelsea hat and scarf.........here I get outside and it's NICE out....I love to walk, and I can walk two miles in this weather.......Ms. Tres she thinks it's freezing........keeps saying how cold it is.

Hope ya warm up and the game was won.
When I think of London, I think of Dicken,s novels. Our mutual friend, The Pickwick Papers. And on the other hand, I think of Johnny Rotten and the old Beatles adn Procol Harum. I guess I'd expect to see a bunch of rockers living in the debtors prison and eating fish&chips. Ha! Ha! I hope I haven't offended anyone. I love Dickens. I read his books over and over.
..Alright Jazwan..
..Yeh i know wot ya mean about st james..neva been there but just seeing the fans on tv makes me feel the cold..and ya get sum of em not wearing a top..with there beer bellys bulging out haha!! characters to say the least..us southerners are always moaning when its cold down ere..but all the snows gone..love the summer..cant wait to it comes..puts an extra spring in me step..ain't spoke to ya for a while..but hope all is ok with yas..carling cup final soon..another chance for ya'll to give murinho sum stick lol..bring on the scousers ;-)..take care jaz..Robbie..

..Hope things are well n good with ya..If you ever come to london..you shud check out the london dungeon if ya like dickens and that..the museums are good but the dungeon shows ya more of wot was bad about london in them times..i suppose theres a fascination about london..theres always been a dark side connected with it aswell..Robbie..
I grew up in London, and before global warming kicked in we used to get thick snow every winter. I loved it! My dad built us tobaggans and we'd go out to the biggest hill we could find and I'd sit on my dads knee and we'd fly off down the hill. Somebody put a big log halfway down and we'd get air! No joke, and these toboggans were heavy wooden ones, when fully laden they musta weighed about 100 kilos! People would even ski down that hill. And it was great on school days too, coz my best mates mum would walk us to school on snowy days and walk us home as she went to work. She was a dinner lady at the local comp, so we'd get to school about 11am and she'd pick us up at about 2, so we'd get in just in time for lunch and come home just after! Happy days!
