Root canal today at noon. I broke down and took a lortab last night. my friend came over and dropped me off 3 of them. I didnt think twice about taking it last night but today i feel bad that i did. The pain is hardly bothering me at all today--probably from antibiotics. the dds gave me a script for some vicodens but i havent filled it.
I wish i didnt take it -- i keep remembering a post cowgirl wrote saying something to the fact that weve been going through this for years, without having to take pain meds. oh well--i did-- i was dieing last night and scared. I will start clean again when this ordeal is over. i wont take anything unless im just dieing.

There is no reason to feel guilty for taking pain medication for legitimate pain. Dental pain is the worst and I think it qualifies as legit, IMHO. Just quit taking them when the pain is gone and you will be ok.

Hi Firesign... i can relate in a way to what you are going thru. I just want to wish you luck today... just know that it is not a relapse when you legitimately need it. So, go thru the surgery... and try not to worry. Put this in God's hands. Let us know how you are when you are able to get around okay? I will be thinking about you! Love,Bri :)

im out the door now, cant wait to get this overwith!! i asked the dds to pull it and he said that would be like taking your whole toe off for having an ingrown toenail--he said it was still a good tooth. anyway, i am kind of freaking. always been such a scaredy cat at the dentist. ok here i go.........
ps. if i feel i need to take a pill for the pain-- im will give them to my husband.
but im thinking the pain is only bad for one day right??? ok now here i go......

Fire! You put a huge smile on my face! I am so glad you made it thru... it really is scary... i know exactly what you were going thru. When i found out i was gonna have to have my wisdom tooth extracted about a month ago i started balling! I was more afraid of having to take pain pills than the actual surgery itself. LOL... then i was like you... i told my husband that he was crazy too! I was eating like 5 hrs after it was done... not solid foods... but i was eating. He had told me that i wouldn't be able to eat for the whole night... guess i proved him wrong! Yeah, your jaw will hurt for a while... mine still does from time to time... i think thats from all that dang twisting they do and the drilling. They say it makes your TMJ worse if you already have it. Anyway... i am really proud of you! Love,Bri :)

Good deal about the dentist. Mine was loose, not loose like when we were kids loosing our baby teeth.
I have this bone sticking out inside my little toe, (years of wearing those darling little shoes, that made our feet look pretty, lol boy if I had only known then) . So surgery down the road to remove the bone, he said once the bone was removed that the toe would just flip flop, so my thinking was this.
Amputate it. What use is it, if it is going to flop all over the place. Not sure which would look worse, no toe, or a floppy one. I have Fred Flinstone feet anyway, short fat toes, square foot. An arch if you look closely.
He said No.

Im having a mole removed from my left leg on wednesday, stiches minor surgury. I will NOT be taking pain meds. I already talked to the dr and told him my deal. Hes giving me ibuphrophin 800 mgs

Im glad youre not taking pills reddog-- i kinda wish i didnt either--but OMG-- i was hurting so bad last night, i was practically shaking. i couldnt stand it a minute longer. Im not going to beat myself up for it because right now i feel good. i feel like i have such a weight lifted off my shoulder. That pain took a lot out of me. And Ali-im also so glad that i didnt get it pulled! the endodontist and the dds told me the tooth was still good. It really wasnt that bad today-- i go back next week so he can finish, then i have to get a crown. I will be nervous im sure, but as long as i wont be in pain like i was, i dont care!!!
