sammy, i noticed in your posts pills anonymous, is that a 12 step regular meeting like na or is it just on that site? i have never heard of pa before.

yes it is a 12 step group for pill addicts seeking recovery, carol. pills anonymous has active face to face meetings in about 8 states. come on over and join us and you can then access the meeting calendar to see if one is near you.

dsam, That sounds great about PA I would be interested in getting one started in my state, Texas where are you! Thanks for the info. I have heard of Prescription Anonymous but there is not one here either are they one in the same? look forward to hear from you .

prescriptions anonymous was started by a gal named cindy mogul. she also has written a book on the recovery from prescription drug addiction. although i haven't read her book, i hear it is very good.

pills anonymous has been around for quite some time (20+ years). although there is no central organization for pills anonymous, the meetings have been started in various states by pill addicts who want to carry the message of 12 step recovery to the still suffering. a great fellowship of pill addicts has evolved both face to face and online. the program is modeled after the steps and traditions that are set forth by AA and NA.
there is a meeting in dallas. the calendar and information for starting a meeting can be downloaded at www.pillsanonymous.com. there are also members there (online) who will work with anyone who is interested in starting a meeting, i.e. help them get it started by sharing their own experience.
in order to download this info, you will have to join the PA site to do so.
