"A dealer who doesn't use what he sells, profits from the misery of others."

Howdy,
maybe i am having a brain cramp as it in the wee hours of the new morning but i can't seem to grasp the meaning of the quote copied and pasted above from that website..

very sad and quite graphic..

To me it is implying that it is somehow worse to be a dealer that does not use than one who uses to support their addiction. With the implication being that he is just using peoples lives to make money.
What an amazing website, what an amazing Father, I think Walt will be looking down with a smile on his face for all his Dad is doing to try to help others.

I'm sorry you guys I should have warned that it was graphic. Poor sad mom made me think of that when I read her daughter had OD'd and her arm was in a position for such a long time there is damgae.

Walt, the man who runs that site is such a nice man. He's helped so many people including me, and I have mad respect for him.

If losing his son was not enough and he moved ahead to start a camp as a place of solace for recovering addicts he lost his daughter and son-in-law to a motorcycle accident. He and his wife are now raising their grandchildren. This family has been through so much it is unimaginable.

After seeing those pictures of Walt you would think he would have never, ever even dared to use heroin again. I think the photographs give insight as to just what a pull that drug has on us.

I knew a guy who while high had been sitting on his radiator. You have no idea the horror of how this guy woke up and had been sitting on that radiator for seven hours. He had third degree burns and eventually lost his leg due to infection from the burns.

We should all say a prayer for the long suffering addict.
Wow! I don't know what to say......Alot of people wouldn't understand how he could want to use again after that, but I think any of us that have been strung for awhile know just how easy it is! Nothing brings that point home harder than those photos and the story. I knew a girl who found a bottle of laudunum in her grandmother,s attic and she injected some. She passed out with the tie off still on her arm. The same thing happened to her arm and hand. She's crippled for life now and she still uses. Ironically...one of her excuses to herself for using is that her hand gives her so much pain and embarrassment. An addictive mind twists things around in your head.
Peace,
Shirley
