I think the government is crazy for trying to do this. Do they really think that 20,000 addicts that have been on Mdone for 5 years or more. Who regularly take their dose & go about productive lives in a form of recovery that they disagree with, are all of a sudden going to fall in line with a new form of treatment ??

Read it Jack ......absolutly crazy in the real world....where some of these seeminingly do_gooders...do not live.Taking away M.M.T would ruin lots of peoples well structured lives.You and I are examples of where methadone can and has worked we raise our children in a drug free enviroment ,go to our work and are generally :normal:folks albeit whilst taking methadone a tool in our recovery .Im not saying its not being abused but it does help thousands get their lives back.......crazy policy shift.....and one i think will rebound on the Scottish people......Jack thanks for the heads up......enjoy yer break down by the sea.......your friend..............Davey
Sounds to me like the people who decided this have never had anyone in their lives who needed the Methadone program.

WHOA!!!!!!!!! Thats scares the holy crud out of me--if its happening there it could happen anywhere, everone know i am on MMT, and although id rather not be, it works for me, and untill i am totally sure i can do it on my own this i will happily lean on this crutch, because for me it mean life, i do believe there are better ways, i just didnt have that available at the time, so its ok--but i dont think they realize what will happen and throwin out those statistics which didnt show much at all it just a way to cover the greed--12 million isnt that much, just thinkof how much they'll be spending to phase out the methadone--they are going to be dealing with alot more overdoses due to H and benzo's from people trying to deal with the transition and failing!!!!!!!!!!!!! It makes me so angry-what about subs why cant they put em all on subs or something--ill have to look into it more--they need to explain themselves--it just doesnt make sense--just as many people that use while on the program, get their lives together and become positive citizens(tax paying citizens) oooooohhhhhh I am angry now!!!
