Hi All,
Just wanted to touch base and let you know my EXH, oldest daughter and myself went to our first family group meeting with my youngest daughter at the Treatment facility last night, we started at 6:30 pm and ended at 11:00 pm! I will not go into details about what was revealed, since what was said there stays there...but much more came out than I even knew was going on and even knew happened to her. I was so proud of her last night, she shared for at least an hour (they put her in the middle of the group and the alumni (sober teenagers with time) from the center sit around them....it was a very safe environment). I couldn't be prouder of her being able to share like she did, own her feelings and label them (huge deal as we all know), and even with the horrendous events that happened while she has been out there drinking for two years, she saw her part in some of the situations...again, I know it's progress not perfection. But, what a leap from last Friday when she was saying, nope I don't have a problem to yep, I am this type of drinker and this is exactly what happens to me when I drink or smoke pot too, but she's like her Mother she loves that drink to block out all the emotions. I'm starting to already get scared though about when she gets out....because the "friends" and enticements will still be there, so me and my EXH are considering putting in her private school. Thank you all for being there for me.

Just catching up with all the happenings going on with you. What a brave daughter you have. Thank God she has gotten some recovery in her at such a young age.
Are you making sure to practice self-care when it comes to you? Make sure to re-generate that beautiful warm spirit of yours.
