Sick Of Relapsing

Hi,

I have been in and out of AA/detoxs, etc for years. I have had practically 3 years clean and sober but have not been able to put together even 30 days lately. I could use some advice. I go to meetings but then back off. I really want to get and slynnsepanski@aol.comtay sober but I constantly hit the bottle when I am feeling depressed or anxious. Any advice on dealling with bipolar issues and alcoholism would be greatly appreciated. Lynn
Hi,
Go to the doctor for your bipolor, go to meetings for your alcoholism. Tell the doctor your an alcoholic. Pick up the phone instead of a drink. Go to a meeting instead of drinking. Stay away from arms reach of a drink and you can't pick up.
Easier said than done I know. But if your desire to be sober is greater than your desire to drink you can do it. When the fear of getting sober becomes less than our fear of the consequences due to drinking it's alot easier. Good luck.
Hang in there.

Take care.........Bob
Great advice Bob, I'd just like to add that I had to be willing to go to any length to achieve sobriety and completely surrender my alcoholism and addiction to a God of my own understanding. I was willing to go to any length to get to a liquor store, so I best be willing to go to any length to get to a meeting. Without sobriety I would have nothing. Remember nothing changes if nothing changes!
