Stacey...I understood what you were saying. Here's my youngest lab. She's got some major emotional problems but look who her owner is.LOL The other lab is too old to give a sh*t.
Awww, Tim, what a cute chocolate...My youngest is 10mos and she's a straight terrorist...they say Lab's like to chew but she just destroys things...she's ate 3 remote controls, about $300 worth of shoes and some of the furniture and she shows no sign of slowing down soon...lol
Buddy is 3 1/2 yrs old and the most mellow, easy-going, loving dog...The only time we have any trouble with him is when the girls in the hood go into heat, then he's jumping the fence & hooking up with all the females around town....
I'm so sorry, FK. (((hugs))) I just kissed Bubby and Dottie. You know how chihuahuas are. That caused a love fest that lasted ten minutes. A vet told me once that a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's. I find that believable. I love all my dogs but Bubby is my side kick and constant companion. I'd be lost without him. A few months ago I went with my cousin to take her dog to the vet. After some tests were done we discovered that Alize' was dying of kidney failure. My cousin couldn't bear to stay in the room while she was put to sleep and asked me to. I sat on the table and held this fifty pound dog while the procedure was done. We cried the whole way home. It's heart wrenching, even if the dog doesn't belong to you. I hope dogs go somewhere nice after they die. They deserve to more than many humans I've known. Thinking of you. xxxxoooo
Have you ever heard of the Rainbow Bridge? According to it...our dogs wait for us...kind of like in Field of Dreams. Check it out....just google Rainbow Bridge.
When I had to put my bigdog...Lex, the Rottweiler down, he was 15 years old, and had been my constant companion. Anyway, the vet came to us, he was in my lap and I was on his bed. I literally have never felt the wind leave my body the way the wind left it that day...afterwards, when I was walking down the hall. It was odd.
My border collies are Milo, 9 years old, and Buddha, 4.5 years old. Milo is my familiar. He is my brother, son, father, best friend...everything, all of things. I love my Buddha too. He is a rescue we took in. He had 4 homes in 5 months by the time he came to us. He adores my husband...and so, although I love him...he is really HIS dog!
I love on my dogs everyday. They show their teeth smiling at me! It is a mutual love fest over here! They are very, very special to me and to my husband. Our lives are shaped by those dogs because we only travel by car to pet friendly establishments and they get frisbee everyday that there isn't inclement weather....which means we walk to the park everyday! I think they add so much to the quality of my life, I am grateful to them!
I had the female version of your Lex, Sarah. Name wise, lol, Lexy was a pit bull but the biggest sweetie you could imagine. She was stolen and I try not to imagine what her fate is now. I still miss that dog after two years or so. She rode in the front seat and stared straight ahead like a person. Bubby gets car sick or I'd take him everywhere Lexy smiled too. She scared people doing that, lol. Isn't it funny how dogs can be so attached to one family member? Bubby tolerates the kids but would prefer they not bother him or get near me. Lol, we sound like we're talking about our children instead of animals. xxxxooooo
