My daughter has just experienced a relapse on heroin and she is looking into moving into a sober living house. Has anyone had experience with their loved ones living in a house like this and if so what are your thoughts on them?

Hi sportsgirl i spent three months living in a sober house- found it great in early recovery- great to have other addicts around to support you when it gets tough- i would recommend it- hope that helps- best of luck

I'm sorry about your daughter, wasn't she on vivitrol? I think being in a sober house is a great idea for her... I wish you two the best of luck.

Yes, she was on vivitrol and doing well but there was an issue with the insurance company and getting it shipped so she went one month without it and the cravings came on strong. Thanks for the input. I am looking forward to her moving out and getting on her own, even though she relapsed it is time for her to fully take responsibility for her own future and she is ready to take that on. She is actually scheduled for her vivitrol shot next week so fingers crossed that it is in the doctor's office when she goes.
