Son Is Going To In House Rehab And I Am So Scared

Our 25 year old son is admitting himself to an in house alcohol rehab facility this week. I am so proud of him for acknowledging the problem over the last few months and being willing to face his fears of rehab head on and for wanting his life back. We are very blessed that his addiction issues have not yet presented him with any issues so far as his career or legally but we are all aware that he is at risk of destroying his future everyday and know that an in house program is the only way to go. That being said... we are a very very close family and I am absolutely paralyzed by the fear of what he is about to go through and the inability to physically be there for him. I am 110% on board and would never elude to anything otherwise to him or his siblings but where can I get help for myself over the next 30 days :( The roller coaster ride of the last few years has been incredibly draining and I know letting this fear consume me isn't going to help anybody but I cannot help it my heart is breaking.
You can get help at Al-Anon.

I remember well HATING/FEARING to go into a 90 day recovery home in 1989.
I also remember FEARING to leave after the 90 days.

Your son will begin to head toward the light instead of the shadows/dark.

Best of luck to your son and your family.

How are you doing today?
Keri, for the next 30 days try to know that he is ok. That he's making steps to better his life. You may not be there physically at moment..and of course as a mom you want to be there for him, but he needs this moment to focus on him. 30 days goes by quick..sometimes too quick..try to take the time for you as a relief of worry/stress while he's there.
