Does anyone have God's email addy??? I have been trying to decipher the "messages" and "direction" I have been praying for, but I can't seem to get a direct answer...I am still confused. I figured, by email, I could see it in black and white...no questioning that. Unless, of course, he wrote riddles...he he...
Hey littlebeach,
My designated Higher Power these days is this board, so I'm getting my messages from God on my computer -- this is the 21st century after all.
Cheers,
Gina

Kerry, that's good. Sometimes I have no clue what God is trying to tell me, or what lesson I am supposed to be learning. But someone said, it's not my job to ask, why just to do it and learn..the why will come later. Morning Gina..how's NZ? What is the weather like there, and what is the time difference there..sorry about the questions, I am just curious, always thought it was beautiful there. Have a great Sunday, Kim

Discerning God's will is closely connected and associated with the depth of our love of God.
I've heard it said that discerning God's will and what we should do may be difficult, but it is less difficult to discern what God does not want us to do. Avoid or root out those, and we are surely doing God's will.
For christians, followers of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we can look to what he said and what is recorded in the scriptures and taught by his inspired teachers. And, yes, many times he did speak in riddles -- otherwise known as parables or stories. He would tell these stories to the crowds, who wouldn't understand what in the world he was saying, then he would explain them to his closest followers in private. At one point, his disciples even asked him to speak to them in plain language because they couldn't understand.
One of the primary things that he taught was, if you love me, keep and follow my commandments, as given to Moses --
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and out of the house of bondage.
1. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
3. Remember that thou keep holy the Lord's day.
4. Honor thy father and thy mother.
5. Thou shalt not kill.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.
Jesus of Nazareth said the two greatest commandments were these:
1. You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole soul and with all your mind.
2. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
