I'm starting suboxonne this week. I take my last dose of methadone tomorrow . I'm going to try to skip a day before I start the subs. If I don't, will I really get sick? I've just been doing 50 mg. a day for awhile. I was doing 30 but I got stressed. That's the excuse I used anyway. I hope the suboxone works.

Please tell me you have a doctor switching you over...and what is he/she saying....
Meth is a tricky switch and if you don't wait a day ( 24 hours ) you will get sick...with 50 mgs as a dose which is high end for a switch... and the half life of meth, the time you need to wait could be 48 hours, maybe more...maybe not and no one here will really know what time is best for you as everyone is so different...
The doctor is the best place to ask all the questions...

I took my last dose of methadone today and I start the suboxone on Thursday. I am only supposed to be taking 30 mg. but it's hard to do when you know you have to stop soon. I had 80 mg. left this morning and I took all 80. I will be honest with the Dr. though. I know from experience that I will be sick by Thursday. Tomorrow, I'll just feel panicy. Thursday, I'll start getting sniffly. I'm thinking I'll be o.k. but then again, I don't know sqat about suboxone.

Just wanted to take a minute and say good luck with switching to Suboxone. I don't know anything about Methadone but I'm wondering why you took your last dose today instead of waiting til tomorrow. In my mind, that would have given you plenty of time for the detox requirements and wouldn't have left you hanging all day tomorrow. The only reason I'm asking is because, in an earlier post, you mentioned taking Benzo's in the interim. You aren't still planning on using them to help you get through tomorrow, are you? I really hope you have another plan of action because, as others have mentioned, they won't induce you (or they shouldn't if they have their heads on straight) if you have Benzo's in your system. Besides, introducing another substance to your body at this point will only serve to muddy the waters. You really want to be as clean as possible in order to get the full, true benefit of Suboxone and to be able to distinguish how it works for you.
What time is your induction on Thursday and what are your plans for dealing with withdrawal in the meantime? Don't mean to add to your concerns but you really should have these bases covered and if you need some medical intervention for the next couple of days, it would be wise to get a jump on it. The next couple days will be an uncertain time for you and eliminating any possible hurdles would be a good thing. Let us know how you're doing!

Not sure if this is a true fact but I am lead to believe that if you have heroin or METH within a certain space of time then take subitex you kick into majour withdrawels.
Docs advise that you leave it 12 hours for heroin but I would advise 24....Kevin left it 12 then took them and was very ill. Also I am sure its 48 hours for meth?? Could anyone confirm this???

Here is some info on the switch and with you at 50 a day are in the higher dose range so the times are there, and what the doctor should be doing is there. Do not let them let you leave for a second dose, do not let them allow dosing at home. I know it is hard to get to the office especially sick but it is in your best interest always
