Stopping Sub Today!!!!!!!

Hey all,

I have been out of town for the past few days. Enjoyed some sunshine in Oakland, and then Long Beach. I am home now and I have the next 4 days off. I am not taking anymore subutex starting today. I tried yesterday but I had to work late and I started yawning ALOT so I took 1 mgm at around midnight, to help give me a boost to get through the rest of my shift. I don't think it helped. I made the mistake of surfing another site and running across a great deal of BAD news about sub WD's so I am a little nervous but not nearly as nervous as I would be going CT from my drug of choice. Some of the things I have been experiencing are hot sweats and feeling tired. John Dee? Is this normal? I have been taking sub now for 9 days. I started out with 6 mgs on the first day and have been tapering from there. So my schedule has been 6 mg on day one then 4 mgs ( 2 in the morning and 2 at night) for a few days then 2 for the last couple of days and 1mg lastnight. I want to use the next 4 days that I have off from work to see how I do without the sub. Any stories from anyone who has done a quick taper/detox with sub would be appreciated. What did you experience? I know I have read that a couple of you have experienced fatigue coming off of sub. How long does it last and what are the symptoms of fatigue? Was it a lot of yawning, sweats, and over all kind of aching feeling?
Thanks for your help and support.

Love,
Lou
Hey! What happened to my avatar?
Lou...I was on Sub for a little over 3 weeks. I have been off it now for over a month. It seems like you were on it for a very short time. Maybe too short? I would suggest tapering down to at least 1mg before stopping. The WD's I experienced were insomnia for the first few days and fatigue. I take Vitamin B-12 everyday and a multi vitamin which has definately helped me with the fatigue. The fatigue lasted about a week but each day got better. If you go for a walk or something it will help. Don't be afraid of going thru any WD's. They are very manageable but just a little annoying. It was nothing like when I quit CT and those WD's were a nightmare. I honeslty think 9 days is too short but that is just my opinion. I think JohnDee was only on it for a short time as well. You can do it, just take it one day at a time and you will be fine.

GHF...
Lou, you werent on the sub long enough to have withdrawals from the sub but your still probably going to have wthdrawals from the oxy, 9 days isnt a lot of time to get over oxys.
Are you out of sub? If you have more take a small amount for a few more days.

JD
Hey John Dee and GHF,

Okay, Okay so I may be jumping the gun a little bit on quitting the sub...Thanks for your words of experience and wisdom. What would I do without you guys? GHF I LOVE your avatar. Chris Farley was my all time favorite Saturday Night Live guy. I actually cried when he died. I guess we can thank drugs for that one too huh? I will stay on the sub a few more days and then jump.

Take Care,
Lou
Lou, how much sub do you have left?

JD
Hey JD,

I had to go count. I have 20, 2mg pieces left. I started out with 10, 8's and broke them into 1/4's.
Try to get by with as little as possible and stretch out what you have, even if you can break the 2s in half.

JD
Will do JD. Thanks for your help. Have a good evening : ) I'll keep you posted.

Lou
Hey Lou lou...my dr still has me on 8 with no mention of tapering yet. Today at my meeting I shared how I still have the obbsession, just not the compulsion to use, so maybe that is a good thing that I am still on the sub.
Could you please list your symptoms? I kinda want a guideline to go by...thanks alot!! And congrats!! Now, don't ever go back, no matter what...
Kerry
Hey Kerry,

I will post my symptoms when I stop taking the sub. I have decided to take it for a few more days and then go off of it. I have noticed that I have hot sweats a lot and I am not sure what that is from. At first I thought it was from the sub but now I wonder if I am going through early menopause LOL!!!!! I am 35 and I think I am too young for that but I have not been taking that much sub and I can't imagine why I am getting these hot flashes. It's really strange and annoying. Also sub makes me want to sleep ALL THE TIME! I mean it's not bad but I don't feel 100%, you know what I mean? I just want my life back...period. No more stuff holding me back. But I realize these things take time.

I will keep you posted.
Lou
Hey LouLou,
I think it's great that you have a good plan for trying to quit. I will pray for the best for you. I haven't posted in a while, I've just been looking from the outside. I would greatly appreciate it if you could keep us posted on what happens through this process. I am going to go back on sub myself, and you are where I want to be in a few weeks. So if you have any info on how you are feeling, it may help me (and others) alot. Thank you so very much LouLou. I will pray for you to be able to keep your head (and energy...lol) up.
Thanks again!!!
Hey Lou, I wondered what happened to you. Glad to hear you were enjoying some sunshine.....you lucky dog, lol. God, I hate winter. I need to move to a climate that's moderatly warm year round. I don't know anything personally about sub, but sounds like everyone got that subject covered pretty well for you. I hope it all goes well for you. Love, Kat
Hey Lou
as a fellow past oxy user, I can tell you that when I quit those buggers I had major hot flashes and skin crawls. It was nasty. How long was your habit? I'm thinking your taper was way too fast, I know you want to move on with your life, but the sub really needs to have the proper time to do its job. I'd consider taking the sub a bit longer, I know if I had quit sub that fast, I would have gone right back to the oxy.

I hope it all works out for you

Redd
Hey thanks for the replies everyone! I will be sure to keep you posted when I stop taking the sub. Like I said earlier, I am going to continue taking it a few more days and then jump. I haven't been on it that long and I think it is probably wise to give it a few more days from what everyone says.

Thanks again,
Lou

Lou

What happened to your plane ? Hope its still flying the friendly skys. You sound like you're doing OK. I hope all is well.

Frank
Hey Frank,

That's a very good question. I DON'T KNOW what happened to my plane! I want it back but I can't seem to make it happen so I have decided to go with the Easter theme.

What are you up to today?

Lou

Hiya Frank:

Nice to see you. It's cloudy at the beach but that's okay because I am sick so I'm stuck here. I'm sure the valley is much more sunny and clear than here. How's it going?
