Suboxine Or Not

have been on 10 mg vics for about 10 yrs. I have Leukemia nd need it for the pain it causes...joint, muscle and most of all bone pain......
I am concerned of liver damage....I am prescribed 5- 10's per day....yea right....doc won't change or increase my dose..I sometimes take 10 or 11 a day... Along with Aleve and indomethicin to get rid of pain....It gives me the energy and it gets me out of bed everyday...
My question, should I try the suboxine to quit or continue with the vics. I have an appt with sub doctor at Va Tuesday....Am worried about the pain...any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciate thnx Sock
I personally have been in a lot of pain since I switched to suboxone, more so now that I am trying to wean off of them altogether. Maybe you should look into other means of managing your pain such as changing opiates or decreasing your intake of norco slowly. Good luck to you sir
I'm sorry to hear about the pain you are suffering for all these years and on top it all, your Dr, is only prescribing you a medication you will only become resistant to. The longer you stay on a particular pain med, you have to be switched to a different one.
that's what my brother does because he has a rare bone disease called Gorhams disease and he's on a very heavy dosage of pain meds for years now. he tells me his pain dr changes his meds every so often so that the meds work.
If I were you, I'd find a different doctor who respects you and your illness.. I don't think suboxone is going to help you at this point for pain.. It's for coming off of opiates and you have to be in full blown detox before you can even take it so you don't go into this syndrome type thing where you can get very very sick.
can you go to a Dr. that specifically deals with leukemia? a specialtist will be able to help you better with your pain control.
I wish you the best outcome. I hope you come back to the board to let us know what your choice is and the outcome.
best wishes to you.
sincerely,
Lintek
