CAN I CHECK IN FOR MORAL SUPPORT???
Richard,

You will definitely get support from these posting. I have been posting since May 2004. The support & love I have gotten has helped me tremendously. It is my husband who is the addict. He is now in recovery. Continue to post and we will all help you in our own ways. Listen to what "Recovery Happens" has to say. My children were only 5 & 4yrs old when their dad starting using. He has missed so much of their lifes, from graduations, concerts & precious moments.
My kids are now 16,15 & 9 yrs old. Going thru rehab. has brought up all these things he has missed. And it is not to late. He still has there teen yrs, young adult yrs, their weddings, grandchildren, etc....Please continue to post, and you will see, that we are out here to help you. Take care & God Bless, tsr

Hey Richard,

I know how you feel, I am also addicted to crystal and I don't go out without it (except to get food and ciggies lol) I really want recovery, but for today I know I want to use more. I will get there eventually but I hope you get there sooner! I'm not too good with recovery advice, but "recovery happens" has tons of knowledge and "justonemore" was using 35 years and has about 2 weeks clean I think so he might be able to give you insight on how it will feel and how to get over the triggers.

Hugs

CHARMED 1 THANKS FOR POST ...
THING IM THINKIN NOW IS MAYBE I AM CONFUSED!
YOU SAY YOU IS HOOKED ON (CRYSTAL?)
THING IS ALTHOUGH I HAVE BEEN USING AMPHETAMINES,FOR MORE YEARS THAN I CAN REMEMBER I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT THE S**T IS?
MAY BE IT IS DIFFERENT IN USA??
IN ENGLAND(( AMPHETEMINES EITHER COMES IN A POWDER(((,OR IT USE TO),))BUT MORE OFTEN IT IS IN A PASTE FORM AND CALLED BASE(unless you get it of doctors then it is a pill)but docs wont prescribe them for addicts and i dont think that there is a substitute(like there is a few for heroin)..
IS THERE ANY ONE WHO USES THIS SITE FROM ENGLAND?? PERHAPSE I SHOULD TRY TO FIND A UK SITE? thing is im not computer literate havent had time to learn computer(too busy being a whizz head as they call you over here!
I will visit this site tommorow may be some one can point me in the right direction?.
any way {{charming charmed1}} i really hope you can kick your habbit one day soon ..
SOMEDAYS I THINK DO I REALLY WANT TO QUIT .

GOODNIGHT AND GOD BLESS FROM RICHARD IN UNITED KINGDOM...
Hi Richard,

I'm not sure what the drugs are like in the UK, however I know all about addiction. I hear your pain. I am a recovering meth addict. Used 20 years, I have been in recovery for 5 1/2 years. As far as learning about different drugs put in your search web "street drugs in the UK" and all kinds of web sites will come up. Good Luck and keep coming back.
Love and Support,
Denise
Recovery Happen
Hey Richard,

Pure Crystal Methamphetamine is what I am addicted to, we call it "P" in NZ. What you've described is what we call "speed" It is a much less potent variation of methamphetamine. It used to be quite popuar over here until about 3 years ago when "P" popped its ugly head.

Sorry I don't really know about a substitute but there are a few things you can do to help you through the withdrawal. Sleep, eat healthy, sleep, take vitamins, sleep, drink lots of water, sleep, exercise, sleep. If you can try and go somewhere where it is unobtainable so even if you are tempted there's not much you can do about it.

It is a hard habit to break (I know, I'm there) and the longer you are there I'm sure the harder it is. You will need support, have you got family or friends that you can go to? You could also try NA meetings, counselling or rehab. And you will always find someone to chat with here.

Best of luck
Charmed
Good Morning Richard,

After reading Charme's post about the drug you are taking--- Please take the time to look up this web site: methmadness.com Once their, go into
meth articles. It will inform you exactly what the drug does to you, how it is taken, & the damage you are doing to your health. It was very helpful to me in understanding my husbands addiction. Take care & God Bless.......tsr
Richard, first off you have made the right choice by wanting to quit, that is the first step and most important. Since you have kids I can relate to that "cant quit now , too much to do!!" syndrome. I raised my kids with that mentality. I did manage to stop for bits at a time. Was always stupid enough to think A LITTLE more wont hurt. Trust me .....no such thing as a "little" it was always back to where I was (usage) instantly. Things that will help a lot....regular sleeping habits, pay extra attention to diet, use food supplements. (dont laff but I find" ultra slim fast "to be very well balanced) there are some good articles in methmadness about nutrition . and as for the kids, find ways of doing things with them that dont require too much energy .....I took up fishing as a way to quit meth. (nothin worse than getting all wired for sound, then having to sit and wait for a bite hahaha) just remind your self, if you really want to use drugs, raise your kids first, the drugs will still be there, you only get one shot at being a good parent
fishing lol, I can't think of anything worse when ya wired, it'd be like torture!.
Well..........will admit , did go fishing a few times wired for sound, took a whole lot of weed to balance it out hahaha, reminds me of one of my other favorite sayings your mechanic friend might like . when we were on a smoke and buzzfest......."too stoned to figure it out,........too wired to quit"
