To all...
As I was thinking last night about my last few days and my 'battle- dance' with the devil so to speak my mind kept coming back to the promises that are read at each and every meeting I go to... I usually volunteer to read them if I am not chairing the meeting.. I love them ... I remember the first time I read them I just wept like a baby... they touch me so... and for some reason my mind kept coming back to them last night as I was thanking God for my resolve and His Grace that got me through.... So I thought I would post them here again in case some of the newer ones could read them... They really do come true ... if you work at recovery....
The Twelve Promises
Page 83 and 84 of the Big Book
1.We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
2.We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
3.We will comprehend the word serenity.
4.We will know peace.
5.No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our
experience can benefit others.
6.The feelings of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
7.We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.
8.Self-seeking will slip away.
9.Our whole attitude and outlook on life will change.
10.Fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us.
11.We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us
12.We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could
not do for ourselves.
"Are these extravagant promises? We think not. They are beingfulfilled among
us -- sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.
They will always materialize if we work for them."
God Bless..

Molly,
Hi, thought you might like this, I read this every morning along with my daily prayers........
January 6th...From....Twenty-Four Hours A Day
Keeping clean and sober is the most important thing in my life. The most important decision I ever made was my decision to give up drinking and drugging.
I am convinced that my whole life depends on not taking that first drink or drug.
Nothing in the world is as important to me as my own sobriety. Everyting I have, my whole life, depends on that one thing.
Can I afford to forget this, even for one minute?........."I Think Not"
Take care....................................God bless..........................................Bob
