Actually it is MARY here but i had to register to post on this new Message Board about Success Stories..okay my sobriety date is 4/28/87..now they want 5 things that led up to my recovery..
sick and tired of being sick and tired
my youngest brother taking his own life due to his addiction
the rooms of AA and a good sponsor
staying away from people places and things
sticking with the winners...
There were so many other factors involved but i thought i just get my feet wet a bit in this new subject for discussion and will be eager to hear from others as well

P.S I am not too sure that i would describe the length of my sobriety as a Success Story as i don't want to come across as cocky and consider myself cured from my addiction. My battle with alcoholism will continue to be a daily struggle despite the amount of clean time accrued. Just have to deal with my addiction/disease as i do with life...takin' it one day at a time...it makes it a little easier that way....
