Is oxycodone the same thing as oxycotin (sp?)
If not, how is it different/same?
I am not certain on this, but I think they are the same..... the only difference that I know of is that oxycontin is time released - so that it's oxycodone in stronger doses that is time released so that you don't get that quick rush.
If I'm wrong, someone will be along soon to correct me.... lol
My drug of choice was hydrocodone, so I'm not positive on things relating to oxycontin.

How have you been? How's the taper going? Are you down to 1 bar a day? Is your doctor going to switch you over to valium like the ashton plan talks about? You sound good from your posts so hopefully it's all working out for you.

also you can do a google search its right at your finger tips, and if you plan on taking them that i do know you can cold turkey off them and trust me there is nothing luxurious about that. ask vinny, he'll tell you how luxurious cold turkey is.

Oxy w/d is one tough train wreck. I've said beforer, I've kicked heroin, benzo's and others. But this s*** almost killed me. The 1st time I went 7 seven days I truly thought I'd lose my mind. 3 attempts later I'm at almost 6 weeks and am so glad to be off that ride. I remember years ago the active ingredient (same as in percoset) was listed as more addictive then heroin in the PDR. Bad stuff...stay away, very far away. Beck

Thanks Terrianne, SO glad to hear from you again. I missed your loving message. Yeah, I thought it was 5 weeks, then counted.One of the best parts is not having to scramble and lie to get the scripts early, not having panic attacks when I faced how much I had taken and still had 2 weeks to face. Never missed a in 3 years...still get goosebumps and not sleeping all that well. Using lortab (kind of have to with my back) and flexeril to sleep, but my attitude is so changing. I'm not totally in control, but no longer a slave. My memory is a little better, am eating again. Thanks for the supportive words. It was so tough. Love you much Beck

oh yeah and that getting up and looking and calling and chasing dr appy pharmacies and dealers was a full time job and then some, your right it is soooo freeing to not have to wake up thinking about that 1st thing every morning. if i only had put that energy to something good i thought just think of the possabilities. we have it in us to be just as creative and put forth just as much as that same energy to something good. we just have to find something healthy we enjoy just as much. its out there. just keep seeking : )

Oxycotin is a time released medecine, all narcotic, usually taken every 10-12 hours as directed, while the narcotic in them is released every hour . While Percocet, Vicoden, etc. are mixed, part narcotic and part Tylonol, Motrin etc. Vicoprophen, Loratab etc..usually taken every 4-6 hours as directed. Hope this helps with what ever reason you needed to know.

Yes I went Tuesday night. It was like it wasn't even me there. I never thought I would go. I just made up my mind i had to do it. OK I was a little disappointed. They all knew each other very well and I didn't feel real welcomed. They were nice but..... Maybe I was expecting to much. They were also very young...Or I'm old.
I will go back. Have made up my mind about that. Maybe I will try another location. There seems to be alot of them around here. Maybe its the water. lol.

I just know I have to do something that breaks the normal for me. It did help. There was a guy that spoke for about 45 minutes. He has been clean for 28 years. He was really funny. I remember Sarah telling me about PA. She said it was great. I wish she would come back........Did you hear that S.

Yes, that's what makes oxycontin so very compelling and powerful. There is NO addiditve. Pure narcotic...so if crushed or I guess snorted (never snorted, but always chewed) the physical addiction is horrendous. Again, other then whatever time-release agent is in it, it's pure. They are little bitty things, no matter the mg. Imagine an 80 mg tiny little pill, the equivelant of 8 percs, only released immediatly into your system all at once. Then do that every 4 hours for a few years and you've got trouble. p.s. there is no generic right now that I know of. Very expensive even with insurance.
Oxycontin is just oxycodone in a time realease shell. People crush them up so that they get all of it at once . An 80 mill oxycontin has the same amount of oxycodone as is in 16 5 mg percocets. The oxycontins dont have anything else mixed in like asprin, tylenol , or ibiprofen.
