Hi All,
Well it's the first time I have been alone for a long period of time and I am a bit nervous. My hubby is in Mexico with his buddies until Sunday and all I have is time. I have a day at the spa on Saturday but other than that I am left to my own devices. OMG!! I know I will be okay but I have already considered having a cocktail. I went to dinner with a girlfriend of mine at a nice place by the ocean down in Huntington Beach and I seriously considered having one for Happy Hour. I didn't,,,but it is the first time in a while that I ping ponged it back and forth for about 10 minutes silently. I never got sober for anyone other than myself but I guess it helps to have someone to be accountable to. He even commented last night that it will be nice for him not to have to worry what he will come home to. He has come back on 2 occasions to me being in the hospital with another attack of pancreatitus. I guess I'm just venting....I know I won't drink but damn does it sound good! I am gonna try and go to sleep early tonight so I can wake up and start a new beautiful sober day. I do just the opposite of what I hear most people do. I don't wake up and say to myself that I won't drink today...when I go to sleep I say to myself, "Cool, I didn't drink today"! Makes no sense I know but it works for me. Then when I go to sleep I am feeling really good about myself. Anyhow I will be probably be mostly reading posts and not responding but I just wanted to thank you all for giving me a safe place to land.

Thanks Patricia....I also wanted to tell you that I finally ordered the book you suggested about a week ago. The Co-Dependence no more. I should have it in a few days....thanks for the tip.

Hi Val - oh a weekend alone - bliss!!! You can cook exactly whatever you want to eat and you don't have to pick up after yourself until an hour before he comes home LOL.
Why not rent a girly movie you've been wanting to see and have a bit of a veg out at home?
Or do you have a hobby you enjoy that you don't get to do often?

Thanks Idgie....funny you'd suggest the movies. I just bought the Family Stone and Rumor Has It, and tomorrow I am going to the Break-up. Total chic flicks that I know I will enjoy. How'd the weekend home alone go Val? Is hubby back yet?
I bought the very girl DVD "The American President" the other day and made my Hubby sit through it with me. I had to bribe him though! LOL I won't tell you with what LOL.
Anyway I'm here having re-committed myself to the path of sobriety.

Thanks for asking Idgie. Everything went well!!! Yipeee. It's funny that he was gone for 4 days and I felt like it was eternity. He got home and I dipped him in bleach and through out all his clothes, (LOLOLOLOL), he went to the BAJA 500, down in Mexico which is some off road racing crap that I hate but guys apparently love. He comes home looking like a homeless person. Anywhoo after he'd been home for about 2 hours we chatted about our weekends.etc. I wasn't missing him anymore. He started watching some dumb guy show so I went upstairs and watched all my Tivo'd Will and Grace shows. LMAO. It was nice to know that he was just one floor away if I got lonely. Thanks for asking and how was your weekend.
As for your new beginning, you can do it. If I could hell anybody can. I was drinking morning, noon and night. I would throw up after about 10 shots sleep a little and get up and do it all over again for years. Something just clicked and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Your in my thoughts.

Hey Val - yeah sounds like my husband after his fishing trips phewie.
Guys - there's just no understanding them LOL. I know what you mean about missing them when they're gone, and then 5 mins after they are back you wish they'd piss off again LOL. Its amazing how quickly we forget how annoying they are. LOL
Anyway my H asked for a break from me a few weeks ago, so I'm going away this weekend to visit my parents. 4-day weekend woohoo.
So we'll see if he appreciates me a bit more after I get back LMAO.
Anyway hopefully I'll still be able to post on the board when I get back home again - asssuming my fingers haven't frozen and fallen off in the meantime LOL its so cold where my parents live.
