I just wanted you to know I think of you every single day and pray for you, your family and Christopher, I cant know the pain you walk through daily but the goodness you have done for others will surely make you one of Gods special angels, even though I know that does not ease your pain. I don't know if you remember my story but my son Robbie is 29 very similar to your story, he is a talented artist, a sweet kind of goofy handsome boy, my only child but an addict since he has been 14 and when I tell you I have tried everything I just like you have done everything. I truly do not want to insult you , my son is living with his girlfriend , he got kicked out of the methadone clinic for using Xanax with his methadone after being warned for 6 mos, and he is shooting up again, I just wait for the call, he is now facing 2 new felony drug charges on August 11th and Im trying to get him in rehab which is so hard with no Medicaid expansion in Missouri, they just don't want to help them, can I ask you one question without offending you because I promise you, my heart is with you, is there anything one can do? even writing that sounds stupid, right? I guess just tell him I love him every time he calls for money and I say no. So when the time comes I know he knows I love him. Just know you are an amazing woman to try and help in Christophers honor , he was more than a drug, an addict, he was a son, he was loved, that is the person we need to know which is who I think of. Thank you and God Bless you,
Dear Angela Thank you for your kind words. ...Tomorrow it will be 4 months since I lost my Chris ...it was always my deepest fear ....I know all the emotions you are encountering....I saw something in your post which caught my attention. ...You said Robbie is facing 2 felony charges....I am sure Robbie must have a public defender appointed to him.Now here's my thought call the sheriff or local court some courts have public access where it will ask the defendants name it will state the charges and say who is defending them.....Get that defenders name get the number call them and explain the situation. ...ask if it is possible for you to address the judge also write a letter to the judge...Explain to him how you have tried to get Robbie help, but as health insurance loop holes have tied your hands and has not helped Robbie as a Mother you are pleading with him to please help you help your son....explain that your son is driven by the demon of the drug that he has an addiction and addiction is classified as a disease yet the health care system falls short of treating it as one... he needs rehabilitation. ..ask the judge to please court order Robbie into a program.....Angela your son is the prize....fight with all you got ....be persistent and be strong....I'm here for you....warmest hugs...and once again thank you for your kindness and prayers. ...Chris was more then an addict he was my son ....and I will forever love and miss him.
Dear Christophers mom,
God Bless you for responding to me when I am sure you going through such a difficult time today. I will light a candle for Chris at Mass this morning and I pray for him nightly and your family for I know he is with you saying Mom I am ok because I know that is what my Robbie would do. Thank you so much for your advice. I will get right on that this morning. He has been appointed a public defender and I will personally write the judge, I have tried to contact the public defender a couple times but as I am sure you are aware they think these young men come from families of drug users, degenerates and people who don't care for them which is so not true. These young men are loved more than these people can ever know and if I can express that in a letter to the judge it may do some good, she is a woman. Please know his time on earth was not in vain, I picture him like I do my son, not an addict but a young man that had many beautiful qualities and had a special bond with his mother. I pray you have a day of beautiful memories of Chris because that is what he would want. Many prayers and blessings to your family, Angela

Dear Angela ,My Mom use to say the squeaky wheel gets the oil...You have to be vocal ... send the judge the letter. When your son has his court date go and ask to address the judge...Tell them all of his actions are driven by an addiction, which is considered a disease. .....That you and Robbie have tried to get help by the insurance companies tie your hands and deny him the proper time needed to rehabilitate Robbie...Explain to them that incarating is not addressing the core of the problem...let them hear he is your only child ....allow them to know that this isn't only about Robbie it's about you his family and the community as well....also get on board are there state legislature offices you can go to a state senators office....Right now you have to give it all you have....the prize your fighting for is your son.....You have to make them realize that he is a hurting human being lying under those accusations...You have to make them understand that this could happen to anyone of them at anytime ...addiction can effect anyone at anytime....Thank you for lighting a candle and sending prayers to my Chris ....He will forever be loved and never forgotton....He is where no man can hurt him now.....but I hurt everyday missing him.
