Wow, I am really impressed....That is awesome...Keep up the great work...this thread is getting better and better...
Pam,
I only lurk over here every once in a while, so if you ever see someone looking for rehabs, and I don't see it, just catch me on the F&F board. I will soon be working on world-wide resources. But, in some 3rd world countries, I just found out, they don't treat addicts, they kill them. No joke.
Cynical one...

LMAO so nice of you eh?

Your the best..

Hugs

Ali
cynical one
Your an Angel!!
Thank you
Cynical One, thanks for telling me where to find you...I will be looking you up when I see someone in need...You are awesome...Really....

Wow, say they kill em in some third world countries.....Now that is an incentive to JUST SAY NO............and to think that I travel in some third world countries from time to time....I knew there was more than one good reason for me to get clean and free from the grips of drugs...
They kill the ADDICTS??????????

WTF?????????????

Are you sure you dont mean the kill the trafficers of drugs??

Not that that is okay, but i have heard of that...in Thailand...actually theres a great movie about 3 guys that go to Thailand...based on a true story...and they have so much fun and the pot is so cheap,,and on the last day there, "Bob" rents a bike, and they double each other and are all goofy and smash it up...and instead of returning it like Bob wants to, the others convince him to throw it away.....

Two of them leave Bob behind the following day...they return to the U.S. ...and the cops come after Bob for not returning the precious old bike...and find all the pot.....long story short....they throw poor Bob in jail for LIFE...but promise that if the two friends come back and confess to their part, Bob will have leniency, and they will all JUST do 5 years a piece.....

The woman that has to talk Bobs two friends into returning to thailand and confessing and doing some time, just to spare Bob...is Bob's sister...played by...that woman that used to date Ellen Degeneries...

GREAT GREAT MOVIE...

WOULD YOU HAVE GONE BACK TO SAVE A GOOD FRIEND FROM LIFE IN JAIL ????? knowing THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO 5 YEARS IN THEIR PRISON THERE??????????

TRUE STORY THOUGH BOBISNT HIS REAL NAME..LOLOL

ANYWAY...IF ITS TRUE THAT THEY KILL ADDICTS IN SOME COUNTRIES, TALK ABOUT PERPETUATING DENIAL...HOLY COW!!!

IM NOT AN ADDICT.WHO ME?? CAN QUIT ANY ANY ANY TIME I WANT TO!!

hUGS to all,

Ali
My new dr said that you don't need a special liscence to prescribe it. What is up with that? He isn't on the list, either.
Kerry
cynical one-Is there a place to get helppaying for suboxone???I live in South Jersey and they are about $80.00 for 15 8mg pills!!!!thx Deana
Ali,
Which province are you in and even better what city or town are you near. Also do you have provincial health coverage ?
I take it a province is like a state? And, what is provincial health coverage? Is that like Medicare here in the states? Sorry, but I am so Canadian Illiterate.

deana,
I'm not sure about subsidized Sub, I've asked Tina (MistyEyes) about this, she is much more educated on Sub than I am, and she is also a Jersey girl.
Hey there Cynical One,

Im in B.C. Canada...in the Okanogan...

Everyone in Canada has medical coverage, doctors visits are all free as well as surgery etc....

Pharmacies cover everyones prescriptions based on the sliding scale...the wealthy basically pay their own, up to a maximum amount, then the Gov. Medi-care kicks in....For some middle income families, it means that they may have to pay for the first 6 months, before medi-care pays for their RXs..So some pay even less, some 40%, some 30% some 20% etc....all based on your income

The poor are covered, through social assistance, as is their dental..100%

If you are from B.C. you get a B.C. care card, much like a credit card and it is a form of ID...the number stays with you for life, though at no time do you geta running tally of what you use....or how much youve spent of the goverments ( tax payers) money....

Ive said this before that we are so spoiled here, we can go see as many Drs as we like, never pay a cent, even get 12 massages a year for free, 12 shrink appntmnts. for free ( per year) all surgery is free, short of elective, ( cosmetic)
and so is our hospital stays and ambulances etc.....yet people b**** and complain about the high price of t.v. rentals in the hospital..Unbelievable but true.

Vancouver is the closest big city to where we live, but anywhere in the Okanagan would be good...

Thankyou for letting me know, i hope that im past the point that i would need it but would be nice to know where it is....

Hugs to you,

Ali
That 'free' health care comes from your wallet missy LMAO!
Does that sytem have a control then for Dr. shopping? That sounds like it would make it hard! We dont have to rent our T.V.'s in our hospitals, they just add that to our bills that we are personally responsible for. Our health coverage is great here, you cant criticise what doesnt exist right? LMAO!!!!!!!
Ben
ben dont missy me..lolol

Please dont pretend that you know more about our health care here in canada

than me.....

I already stated the Tax payers money....I PAY MY TAXES BEN...and alot of them...i think that meant ME and MY POCKET too...

Please.........,this is one area you do not have supreme knowledge ben..maybe you just misread...go back and see...i clearly indicated we all pay through taxes....and yet...when we win in a lotto?? 100% tax free..but you knew that too right???

Ali
Yes MISSY I saw that LOL. I saw the "free" part. I didnt know I was arguing...This will be a one way argument dear. Let me know who wins LOL. You didnt answer my questions.
Ben
Thanks,

Its so nice of you to take the time to do that.

Really nice...

Will check back here sometime tomorrow eh?lolol

Your neighbor to the North,

Hugs

Ali
Im lost! Does that prevent Doctor shoppimg or not? The point of my post was a question. You should go back and look!
Ben
Let me know how that argument turns out too LMAO!
Deana,
I was sleeping when you posted but as far as I can tell no one subsidizes sub in the US. Many insurance companies pay for it, and many doctors who perscribe take insurance as well......If anyone knows of subsidization with sub I would be interested to hear about it......
Have a good day,
Love,
Tina
Different countries have different punishments for both possession and supply of drugs, some even have the death penalty or life imprisonment

In Turkey you could receive 25 years in jail and in Cyprus you could be be in for a long prison sentence for possession , or receive a large fine thanks to their zero tolerance policy.

In Thailand, possession of even TINY quantities of drugs can lead to imprisonment and sentences of 50 years without remission are not unusual. In the most serious cases, the death penalty can be given. Possession of 20 grammes or more of any Class A drug at a Thai exit point is classed as trafficking and, if found guilty, the death sentence is usually given. In Thailand, amphetamines and ecstasy are both considered Class A drugs

24 year old Australian model Michelle Leslie was arrested Saturday night in Bali after police searched her handbag and found two ecstasy pills. She faces 15 years in prison. No bail is allowed.
Police said the two pink ecstasy pills which could land Leslie in jail for a lengthy stretch cost less than $50 or about 300,000 Indonesian rupiah

Obviously,I did a little research here when I noticed a couple of posts bringing up penalities for possession in third world countries- I can imagine the penalities in countries like China & Vietnam,& I coundnt even find valid informiration on them.Nor could I- IraQ,Iran,Afganastan

So if I were to guess ,I would say that execution for possession is a real possibility- although not the norm.
Ali- I didnt see the movie your talkin about, but there are a few movies with similar story lines and they usually end up with a bad ending.
As wacky as this (USA) countries laws are&(GB & Canada) ,at least there is some compassion
Many of us must travel due to our careers .Im sure not to many of us ,if any at all ,go to countries like the ones mentioned- but a BIG reason to travel clean & sober

Gotta go to work- been off since last Thursday- - Man, I felt like I was retired.

In Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand you can buy Rx drugs over the counter. There is no restrictions. Thats what I loved about going. The trip would be a haze but I always got a fix. They really dont care if you leave the country with a 1000000000 pills. When you get back to the US customs may find them and you will have some splaining to do....
On the other hand if you are caught with what is considered illicit drugs in any three of those countries, you may be screwed and may not. The laws are arbitrary. I met a US citizen over there, the guy did our website and he was caught for "thai stick" he spent 6 days in jail and was re-leased. A guy he knows was caught with same drug and amount and has been in jail for 3 years!
If you get caught in Cambodia with illicit drugs, you are lucky to make it to court alive. The cops are frequently shown on the news stomping in the faces of drug addicts and torturing them in the most vile ways. There is no punishment to the police, its accepted.
In Vietnam they "frown" upon drug use. They will get you to court and after 2-10 years in jail. Thats if you live through there jail system. No pot to pee and a bowl of rice water a day is all.
In third world countries, its all arbitrary to the punishment de jour.
Scary chit, Im glad to be in America.
Ben
BUMP for newcomers...
