Oh Robbie just you wait.....we saw Beth Orton last night.....well I say let's wait till she comes out.....so we go out back of the club.....sit a bit...meet a total CUTE stranger.....I say "Are you a stalker?"......turns out he was from Canada.
Anyways well him & our girl are talking all music.....then we leave, and low, and behold there's the tour bus.....of course I had to go up to her, and say my friend blahbadeeblah......apparently Ms. Orton is very shy.....well better not get me in the mix......then her, and these other alt music folk meet this drummer....OH YOU WILL KNOW HIM....he played for jeff somebody......I says is it Jeff Beck?
Ends up I get stuck with the dude from Ohio who lives in the Carolinas and drove all the way to Philly to see Beth......starts drawing me a map on the tour bus dirt, and gets yelled at by a roadie.....unhuh.....oh yes....she's enjoying a drummer, and I'm counseling a dude whose parents divorced when he was eight, and he has his deceased grandpop's overalls.
ALLLLLLL worth it to see Tres so happy.....actually peaceful even.....knowing we could have a blast clean.....not even a beer.....drank bottled water.....I loved beth though.....also this Willy Mason...did some Hank Williams cover, and now they're talking.....I like that stuff.....good times.....that Tres can tell you that so, and so lead singer of watchamacallit had mumps at age five, and broke his foot at twelve.....she's quite amazing.
Odd sense of humor though the Beth girl....I yell in Tres ear British humor....had me Chelsea jacket on babes.....miss you much Robbie, and our Charlie.......if I had to lose you it would have to be to Tres cause she is the bestest....wish you were there......oh yeah, and she always gets the :
