i am also taking b-12, you said you doubled up how much were you taking, maybe i will double up/ please advise thanks
Navha.......I don't know that the doubling is a good idea.......maybe, maybe not. But it's what I did. I have B Complex.........which has in it...
B1 100% DV
B6 100%
B12 100%
which means I am getting 200% of the recommended daily allowance. Again, I do not know much about vitamins and am not sure whether it is good or bad to do this. It has always been my belief that you can't take too many vitamins..?
Good luck, Carol
tride it mom, my b-12 are 1000mcg. and thats all it says. i have been on them for about a week, i will think about doubling
thanks for getting back to me
how are you doing
thanks for getting back to me
how are you doing
Hey Carol.....Vitamins are a tricky thing.....B Vitamins are water soluable, so they shouldn't hurt you if you are taking more than recommended, but you shouldn't take more.......Vitamins like A which are not water soluable and stored in your liver, have the potential to cause you harm....so be carful what you take and you can always ask the pharmacist or your doctor about the ones you take.........
Hope this helps........
Hugs,
Tina

Tina and Navha........see that is what I was afraid of! I started to tell you to talk to the pharmacist before doubling up on yours. Mine are not 1000 mcg. Ask him before doubling. And with your current taper schedule, they are probably working and you just can't tell it due to the decrease amounts of hydro. you are taking. Make sense?
I am fine, thanks. Just lack motivation. I am hybernating for the winter and hope to hit the ground running by spring!! LOL
Take care, Carol
I always thought that you couldn't take too many vitamins too. I thought that if you did, you'd just pee out what you don't need.
Water soluble is good then? What are the ones called that are stored in your liver? And are those the kind to avoid? Vitamins are just as complicated as prescription drugs sometimes.

Briar.......LOL.....and while I made it my business to learn a lot about the stuff that is not good for us i.e. pain pills. I know very little about the good stuff.
Carol
Anatomy taught me great things.....never forgot about the vitamins.......
You would think that they would be good.....but some can hurt you if you take to much....got to ask the professionals on this stuff....I think some even interfer with the herbal stuff too.....look I just made it more complicated....

Here Briar found this for you.............
There are two types of vitamins: fat soluble and water soluble. When you eat foods that contain fat-soluble vitamins, the vitamins are stored in the fat tissues in your body and in your liver. They go and wait around in your body fat until your body needs them.
Fat-soluble vitamins are happy to stay stored in your body for awhile - some stay for a few days, some for up to 6 months! Then, when it's time for them to be used, special carriers in your body take them to where they're needed. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are all fat-soluble vitamins.
Water-soluble vitamins are different. When you eat foods that have water-soluble vitamins, the vitamins don't get stored as much in your body. Instead, they travel through your bloodstream. And whatever your body doesn't use comes out when you urinate.
So these kinds of vitamins need to be replaced often because they don't like to stick around! This crowd of vitamins includes vitamin C and the big group of B vitamins - B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), niacin, B6 (pyridoxine), folic acid, B12 (cobalamine), biotin, and pantothenic acid.

Hey guys just wanted to jump in and say that I have the 1000 mcg Lozenges of the B-12 that dissolve under you tongue. I do not know much about vitamins as pain pills are my specialty-LOL but my boyfriend know a lot and reads about them everyday. He told me that a 1000 mcg of the B-12 is meant for a man's body and a woman should only let half of that dissolve under their tongue. So when I take them I spit it out half way dissolved. I told him I didn't want to grow hair on my face,LOL but really he said that a woman's body does not need that high of dose. I can't tell you why, just what he said and he knows a lot about vitamins and working out. Take care all. Rae
Hi guys I'm gonna jump in to say...hello I did do the B12 but like anything else I just couldn't do it the norm.I took the 1000 lozenge + a Bcomplex.Yes it gave me some energy but I was also still on the ultram. The only strange thing about having that much was that my pee looked like ETs real neony.....mj
Misty,
Thank you for taking the time to post to me. That was very informative and appreciated as well. That I'm going to save because I don't know much about vitamins, and probably should.
Again, thank you.
Carol, I hear ya. Actually I know quite a bit about the opiate family, but would get lost in a vitamin store!
