Hmmm, I've seen these and everyone has their own opinion...I popped in and out of AA trying to get sober for over twenty years...I was drinkin' and usin' for 28 years. I tried to get sober by sheer will power, getting married, having kids, buying house, HInduism, Mormonism, Catholicism, Women for Sobreity (WFS), MM, Rationale Recovery (RR), Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, you name it and nothing but the 12 Step Program of Recovery has worked for me...but that's me...I know it's not for everybody, but I was a desperate woman when I went back to the rooms of AA...oh, and I didn't lose everything either; I hit an emotional bottom.

Dude, you got your own right to your opinion, but also respect the right to our opinions and feelings... for many of us the 12 steps WORK. Without it I wouldn't be here today. Why would you wanna come here and try to start controversy? Crazy man.
I LIVE THE TWELVE STEPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD DO THEM AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFE ADDICT OR NOT YOU LEARN ALOT ABOUT YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is such a controversy about the twelve step, then why are there so many other support groups based on the twelve steps
Again this only my opinion, I too live by the twelve steps and am happily enjoying life again.
They do not only apply to using and abusing, they can be applied in other aspects of life

I think tha tthe person who is signed in as guest,should take a look in the mirror, we who have worked the 12 steps and have experienced the real blessings of the 12 steps don't really need to worry about synical peaople out there. I LOVE THE 12 STEPS AND THE 12 TRADITIONS OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The truth behind the 12 steps is that they are a beautiful way of living.
The disease of alcoholism is cunning baffling and powerful .Its the only disease that tells you, you dont have it. The disease lies to you it wants you to believe anything but the truth. If you are alcoholic just look at your life. The times it told you, next time it will be different, if anything it got worse start drinking with one problem you normally come to with three more.
That you will be able to control youre drinking next time .that you will be able to have one or two drinks. Well one drink for me was to many and a hundred not enough. The lies go on and on. I started to get well when I stopped believing the lies and started doing something about the 12 steps.
People like Guest are predators they prey on the sick .They dont want to see people get well. By coming on a recovery site and trying to feed people GARBAGE like the orange papers. Shows me what a deviate Guest is.
Its encouraging for me to see that with your replies recovery on this site is in good hands. Please help me pray for guest .
