Ultram

Well, I have been worried about getting off of Lortabs only. thy mke me high or I end up taking them just to funcction. Now I read on message board that Ultram is highly addictive. MyRheutologist gives me these - 8 a day - I only tale 2 in the morning to loosen me up - Arthritis - one time I took 5 in one day and I was really, really sick so I stick to 2 in th morning. They don't make me hgh.I would tell my doctor that I only took 2 in the morning and she would she still write Rx for 8 per day saying just throw paper prescriptions away of not needed.
Now am I leaning that I have to stop the lortabs and the Ultram (tramodol)
and that both w/d are horrible - Tomorow will be 4th ay of Lortabs and I have had okay and bad times. I can't imagine coming off of s'thing else.
Do we do it the same way? Cold turkey or taper?
I'll be darded if I'm going to live the rest of my life on pills.
I take Synthroid for Hypothyroid, Corguard (only) 20 mg for blood pressure and Crestore for high chloesorel. That's enough and I don't mind taking them. I am not overweigt, my family doctor assures me that blood pressure and high Choloesterol are heredary. My Father had a massie stroke at age 52 but he never went to doctor. He also smoke all of his life, ate everything fried, every red meat. - the way a lot of people ate back then. Had he went to dr. he would have foun out he had hig chlesterol and taken a pill and probably still be with us toay, He was from the old school where men didn't go to doctor.. I thank God my husband is not like that.

Enough, Pls let me knowm more about Ultram addiction. I have told all of my doctors my list of meications and they have neve broiught up Ultam.

Thanks for your help.

Hi jean i dont know to much about ultram but i have read many posts here from people who have detoxed from it and they say its horrible but i think they were taking much higher doses try taking 1 in the morning if you really need it but dont take them if you dont have to maybe try advil or something like that see how you make out i also take thyroid replacement for an underactive thyroid . i am an oxycontin percocet addict im sure you will get lots of responses in the morning from the people who have experience with ultram its just kinda late and the board is slow right now but i just wanted you to know that you will get lots of support here but most likely in the morning nice to talk with you .Tracey you can call on me anytime you need support
Thanks Tracey.

Well. we do have s'ting in common that's not addictive - Synthroid or the generic of it. No side effects and I'm on 100mcg a day - they have only had to change my dosage one time and I have been taking for 8 years so I have been lucky. My s-in-law's hair just about all but feel out but she did admit to me that she did not take regularly. I take mine every morning - have never missed a dose - never plan on being a beauty queen but if possible I do want my hair and I don't even have great hair - haha
Nice talking with you and since I am jusy taking 2 Ultram a day, maybe it wouldl't be bad to switch to one a day for a while and then none. It's just hard to imagine going off of anything worse than Lortabs but I'm sure there are.

I could not sleep last night after reading that.

Thsnks so much,,

Jean I posted you on this already but I didnt tell you about my mom.She takes 3 a day & she is fine with that.Shes been taking them for years.BUT she is the type that would NEVER abuse anything, shes very careful with what she takes. As I said I was swallowing close to 20 if not more per day.I often would lose count. So I guess thats all,I just wanted to make sure I was fair in my words. So yes I do have a problem, but I also could get addicted to milk or anything.....take care..you seem very deytermined but please try & remember it will take time no matter how you choose to go....mj
