Update

R was admitted to a detox facility about an hour ago. Thank God she has friends who are willing, even glad, to help her. It's a 5 day program and who knows what's next, but she's in. Her friend called - not the gentleman from my driveway, but the friend who would not allow her to stay with him - to let us know that her frame of mind was as positive as could be under the circumstances and that all she took with her was a roll of quarters, presumably for phone calls, hopefully one to us, but if not, then not.

As always your good thoughts and prayers have helped to create a small miracle for my girl...

This is good news M&M.............M, not to throw more into this but did the friend tell you where or what the name of the place is.....I don't want to know.......just wondered if ya did..........I hope she calls........she should be reasonably comfortable.

I'm glad this all worked so quickly.

Hope you are O.K., and got decent news about your brother's treatment......I have you all in special prayers.
Good news. One day at a time.
Thanks guys. Bryn, my brother's news is about as good as cancer news gets. he starts chemo later this month and has six months of treatment ahead of him but the doc believes that the chemo will effect a full cure of the lymphoma which has not spread to the nodes.

Yes, we do know which facility she is in and our driveway angel, who works with addicts and alcoholics and got her the placement without health insurance, told us the place is about a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale...which is pretty decent since most of them are about a 3. He expects she'll be fairly comfortable.

Two miracles in one day...we are blessed.

And I spent the evening with my younger daughter shopping for college and just enjoying her company - not enough of that happening lately and it was great.

Peace~M&M
mom,its eck here,,hope u dont mind my nosiness but the cancer u r talking about, would it be non hodgkinsons by any chance?if so then my brother suffered from this about 10yrs ago,not sure if it was quite as long as that but u get my drift, anyway he went through chemo and made a full recovery, hope this makes u feel a bit more positive bcoz like myself u seem to have alot on your plate.mom i would like to talk to u about something thats unimportant really but will at a later date, please keep your chin up as u seem to me to be a lovely person and i really appreciate your words of support to me,i was unable to give any wisdom in your hour of need bcoz of my own predicament but just wanted u to know i was thinkin of u..luv fae scotland..eck.xxp.sBRYN if u read this,,dont u eckie me,if u look down the page u will see that ive been lookin for u,ya yankee nut.lol, luv 2u also..eckxxx
Actually, eck, it's Hodgkins lymphoma, but the prognosis is excellent...still scary though when the doctor says your name and cancer in the same sentence. We are very optimistic and so's he...six months of chemo and they think that'll do the trick. And don't you worry about not being there...I know you're there, you sent me a bit of encouragement and positive thoughts and every bit helps. You take care of you right now and I'm game for whatever you want to talk about whenever you feel like it...sometimes the unimportant stuff takes our minds off the other stuff that weighs us down.

Best to you, eckie~MomNMore
