from your response about the alternative to methadone, i forgot what its called but it sounds like a good thing if its easy to get off of, so why dontw they institute it? My question goes beyond that, why don't they stop waising so much money & so many lives in this insane war on drugs. Why lock up people for useing. Why not spend a little bit of money for detox, rehab, treatment, education, etc. My honest conclusion, besides the obvious, that prohibition inflated prices & makes an awful lot of people rich, etc., is that addicts, whether using or recovering, are probably the most discriminated, silent minoroty people there are & they have no political clout whatsoever.

The truth is in my opinion, the gov. makes so much money on illegal drugs they'll #1 never admit it and #2 never do anything about it. The only thing they do is now and then make what the media calls a big drug bust or put someone away for a dime bag just to make it look like they are trying to do something good. It's all Bulls--t. The only war on drugs they fight is the fight to keep it illegal to keep the money flowing in. Just my opinion,

I totally agree dog, it's a crime the way things are handled. We are not criminals or evil people, we're sick, we need help. If they (the gov't) focused more on recovery and rehab..just think of how many more of us could be useful, healthy human beings.

They have the tools...is it really the money?
