Vacation/holiday

Well its nice to have a 3 day week end. Im up at 1 am ,knowing that I get an extra day off this week-end. Its a beautiful thing!
I think Im going to head down-da-shoar tomorrow afternoon. My kid is running the kiddie rides at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights.-
For all you non-ny/Philly/nj people -Seaside (well the Jersey shore in general, is the deal during the summers months)

My kid came back the other day to pick up some things -then went right back. He works 5 days a week running the kiddie rides( right now its the go-carts)
I think I,ll go down & surprise him . He told me "Pop, you cant believe how little these girls are wearing on the beach- He told me that if he had a 16 yr old daughter she would never walk around in public like that"
At least he sounds like he,s steering clear of the wrong things- cause there are plenty of wrong things down there. I always tell him"Remember who you are "- He seems to "get it"

He mentioned some bars/clubs that are still there from the days I used to go down 100 years ago. Yeah I think Ill go down and walk the boards-grab a steak & cheese, a get nostalgic- (Hey Byrn we had a good laugh about how us NYers walk & eat at the same time- -its true - funny stuff.)
Im going to call & old friend of mine in the AM- if he can get away(from the wife) Ill have an old pal to join me. If not- Ill go by myself. Just bring a blanket, and my guitar & kill some time on the beach until it gets dark. Then do the boardwalk thing.& catch the fireworks. If I can ,maybe my kid can put me up for a night in the house he & his friend(& his friends mom) are in. If not Ill just drive back late at night.
It is nice though waking up-catching the sunrise- grab a Sunday paper (they are mostly Philly papers down there) & a little breakfast.

anyway- its nice just to reminisce -even on this board

have a nice weekend-(I dont know if Memorial Day is a Holiday in Briton- have a nice weekend regardless
jack
Jack my friend sounds like fun you should deffo go for it.......alll the lil kids will be looking up to yer boy minding them on the rides.......and i can just imagine the eye candy .......hard to resist betcha you will be peeking out over yer sunglasses....LOL
Yeah ya raised yer boy right at least hes got some morals......who did he gain them from ???.
They have memorial day in the U.K....but not in Ireland i think they should coz thousands of Irish men joined up for duty in the States and in Britain during WW2......forgotten heroes i would say.
Anyhow love the new avater nearly got me tripping.
Best of luck over the weekend have a good one..............Davey
Davey,

Jack's probably gonna be sitting on a bench facing the beach checking out the chica's............LOL...........Seaside freakin rocks..........it's more Zoo Yorker's there...........so for me anyway I enjoy hearing their accents...........while they walk and eat large portions at the same time.........they got bars on the boardwalk there too which we don't have at our shore points.

Actually I can get to Seaside way quick..........it's a short trip...........I'll work on Jack before the season is over for a roundup...........you'd like Seaside, Davey......and oh yeah them girls are half nekkid...........although you wouldn't care because you'd be getting Sian on the carousel........they have an antique one and the figures are made of wood........German made and restored and it's lovely..............and Seaside is good for winning stuff on the wheels.

You know like put a buck on "Pop"...........round and round she goes.........hommana hommana.............and it's "Sis" we got ourselves a winner "Sis"............ya spend $50 bucks for a stuffed animal ya could have gotten at the $1 store.............but it's the fun..........the chance to win........no addict would be laying out even 50 cent on one of them things.............only clean folks toss around dollahs on spinning wheels............but it's oh so fun.

Davey, miss ya................maybe Jack will go up on that tram thing in the sky over the beach with some binoculars...........zeroing in just to keep the peeps alert how their kids are running around in thongs.

Oh one bad thing is the beach there..........you go in the ocean and it got stones and broken shells, and ya about drop immediately............their sand is gravely.........Wildwood got the best sand in the world says me............you know I have to complain about something.
Yepper .Bryn whos ol Jacko fooling with his good book and geetar routine ....me and you know hes there for the hotties .....just as long as he dont give himself a coronary LOL.
All joking aside it sounds like a well cool place ......id love to live near the sea ...why dont ya make more trips down to the shore Ms.??
i suppose when its on yer doorstep you dont appreciate it enough......im surrounded by lakes but i aint into fishing ...maybe when i get a bit older i might see the wisdom of some nice tranquil freshwater angling.....but not now.
Its sunny here but Sians fighting with her mates ...you know how 8yr.old girls on rollerblades can be sometimes ....overbearing i think is the word of the hour ...im sure they will makeup.
Take care dearest in the interim............Davey
How was yer trip Jack??????ATB..........Davey
Could Jack have taken off with a young chica........of age of course.........could he have thrown caution and the 401K to the wind and moved in with the boys to spend midlife downashore............Jack, where are you?

Davey, I hope he's alright.......perhaps his old friend joined him and they stayed down there and he was tired today/tonight.......I hope so.

Girls on rollerblades...............OH THE HEADACHE......Davey, honestly I feel for ya although I think men can somehow deal with it..........a bit better than other female relatives........girls can be so mean, and yes they fight and it's trivial but they will blow it up like "Katie Kaboom" and then next morning be BFF4L.........boys are different...........they seem to roll more easily......Bless our lil girl............before you know it Sian will be pre-teen and then you will be on here asking us girls all about "Is this humanly possible?".........LOL!!!!!!!!!

Hoping Jack checks in and hoping Sian and the gang of girls made up.
Went down da shoar wit a ol friend of mine-(one that is still a real friend even after all the shet I did long ago)- We stayed all day & half the night reminiscing about the old days.
Man* has it changed down there. No more Bruce Springsteen blasting as the Twister goes 100 miles an hour. You have lots of Rap & other foreign sights and sounds. At least the sausage and pepper sandwiches are the same ( greasy and delicious)- Looking out at the Ocean from the Lit-up Pier ,screaming with people and lights is a scene that everyone should experience at least once -

We hung out with my son when he finished work (around midnite) . Running the go-carts - what a life
We decided not to stay down there - so we left around 3 AM . Its about a hour & a 1/2 from here at that time without traffic- (I'm 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge)

Anyway- it was a good trip & I proudly drove away hoping the youth of today saw my Deadhead sticker on my Cadillac(well 98 Toyota)- The rites of summer have truly been passed on when your kid tells ya"I'm going to a club Pop, you look tired, be careful driving home"

Peace to all-
former boy of Summer
