I have a quick question...I hope I do not offend anyone. My husband is a recovering addict, his drug of choice was crack...although he has done many others. He lost his job and his family and hit rock bottom. Fortunately I stood by his side when he asked for help. He did a 30 day rehab stay. When he got out he came home and things have never been better. He has a sponsor and attens meetings. He has been clean for 89 days. About 2 weeks ago he had back surgery and was given a prescription for vicodin. We explained to his Dr. about his addiction and he prescribed a limited number of pills. My husband has not abused these pills and has actually dealt with the pain without them a few times. Our lives are finally getting back on track and my husband was just offered a job. On Monday he goes for a drug test, my question is how long does vicodin stay in your system??? I know that his Dr. will give him a note stating he has been given this prescription, however with his past I would like to try and avoid this. you know it seems like up to about 5 days. i'm not sure i am remembering right. hopefully someone else will chime in.

Vicoden stays in the system 3-5 days from the last dose.
