Hi Luke and welcome to the board . I assume by you're post that you need these drugs? All I can say is that many of us become addicted after surgery or pain related events in our lives . I do not think any of us expected to become addicted but we did. Please do not feel bad about yourself in that you simply fell into the same trap that many of us did .I wish I could say I have advice for you now but considering you're condition I am not sure what to say .I would think that you might be able to speak with you're DR. and tell him exactly what you posted here . You were put on drugs that you need and now you have a physical addiction to them . I would think the DR. would understand that . I hope this is helpful .Please keep posting and let us know what is going on . Their seem to be several people here who may better understand you're situation and can be of more help , Rob
Luke..you need to talk to your dr. And then your family. Yea, you're addicted but unlike a lot of us here, you need the pain meds and you don't take them to get high (I assume). If you're having a hard time staying on your schedule and need to take more and more to control your pain, then your dr is the one you need to talk to about this stuff. He already knows your physically addicted and probably will be for the rest of your life. He can help you. The mental stuff? You need support and love from your family. You don't have to do this alone. I'm glad you're here and keep posting, it helps to talk.

Luke,

Welcome to the board, good for you for seeking an outlet for your inquiries and concerns.
Listen, you've got options. If I've learned anything from my struggles with pain meds it's that everyone has a unique reason for starting and everyone has a unique way of stopping. but everyone has the choice. I'll bet you get a lot more support than you expect, even if you're already expecting 100%. There's so many different forms of help, and the most help you can get is from inside yourself. It's a process, but all processes have finales, and finding alternatives to pain medication is not a foriegn science. You can do it if you'd like to, and I hope you do. Keep posting and updating us here on what's happening to you, you'll find a lot of help from the people here.
welcome luke. i would talk to your doctor, with your ilness, you need some form of pain medication foor the pain.possibly, being able to use less kinds first of all. i dont know much of your illness, but i am willing to learn to help you better in any way.kimber:)
Thank You everyone for being kind to me by reading the replys I now really feel that there is something that i can do about this. Until now I haven/t really thought about talking to my Doctor but now I feel that i can and that he'll understand and give me options on pain management and controling the amount I take and possibly get back to the Old Me. I Really like to Thank Everyone again for helping me. I will be talking to you guys more often now that I do have support.
