Tomorrow (Monday) is my daughter's 20th birthday. She is in college. All she wanted was a digital camera, so hubby picked up one at the store he manages, which is like a Target.
So being the good Mom I am, I got in the car today and drove to her dorm and surprised her. She opens the camera box, gets all excited, then says "Where's the camera???" IT WASN'T IN THE BOX!!!
I called my husband, who was working, and he couldn't believe it! Either someone stole the camera and put the box back on the shelf, or it possibly could've been the display and no one took the box away. What a bummer!!!
Well, at least I made the effort and took my daughter & her boyfriend out for a birthday brunch. What a circus today turned out to be! At least I got to hug my sweet daughter in person; it was worth the trip for that!

That really sucks. I would complain to the manager and it sounds like you don't even have to go back to the store to do it. Its the thought that counts and i'm sure your daughter will not forget the fact that you drove over to her to give her that.

It was only an hour's drive, and it was beautiful, so it wasn't that bad.
Actually it's pretty lucky that my husband was the one to pick the box with no camera in it; otherwise some irate customer would ream his butt.
