by the way guys i really didnt mean to get into the big discussion about my sleep deprivation, but seriously thanks for the advice. my wife has injured her foot (shes having mri tommorow.) she works third shift and while she was sleeping today i took her prescription and went to the pharmacy and got her pain medication for her. not sure why i did this , i guess i just wanted to prove i could do it. i did get a little shaky there and kept feeling like people were staring at me. i never even took them out of the bag though, ( but im sure she is sitting in her car right now counting them) not sure why i felt the need to say this but i did. thanks for being there
Oh man I bet that was hard but didn't it feel like such a relief that you did not break.........Jessica
yeah it really did, dont know why i felt i had to though. stupid if you really think about it. but over, she has them and ill never see them again.
Lone wolf!
I'm glad you posted this. It must have taken alot to go to the pharmacy and get the pain meds filled. The way I look at it is it was wierd for you to get pain meds filled and not use or get that excited feeling we would get.
But also you put your self aside and did it for your wife to show her you could do it. That took alot of courage. You could have excluded yourself from the whole situation. You have a wonderful spirit about you! Keep it up!

Ya know I had to when I got clean I had to put things into challenge mode almost just to build confidence it helps but people who don't have an addiction don't understand the mind frame that your in it really feels like a challenge everyday and when you make it a personal goal it seems so rewarding...Jessica
Wolf,
your a brave dude. Not many could have done that. I have my last lortab taped to the refrigerater door with the word 'death' written underneath it. Right next to it is a picture of my bike with the word 'life' written underneath. It reminds me every day of my clean, sober life of where I have been, where I am now and where I need to be tomorrow. That took guts, man. Your my hero....

Hey....way to go. That was huge...especially when you are still feeling under the weather because of the meds..
I really give you credit because that would have made crazy....not sure what I would do. Right now, I don't want to ever touch another pill, but it took me a long time to get there.
Also, are you going to be okay knowing they're in the house?
Kerry

Good goin, not taking them. But now that you have proven u can do it, unless it is totaly something u need to do for your wife, i don't think you need to prove it again.
Bikeman, that sure is a straight to the point picture of what it is about. Life, or a pill. Think about all u put on your fridge. Imagine when u were a 12 year old kid & u were with ur buddies thinking about all the cool fun things u would like to do. Motorcycles & babes would be at the top of the list, maybe a couple beers. but imagine if someone brought up the idea of a stupid pill vs the fun life of riding a motorcycle & partying & girls & maybe a little fighting. It would be so ridiculous it wouldn't even be a joke. What idiot would want to sit around & pop pills all day & spend all his money, & get sick, & all that just so they could, if all went well, feel euphoric for a couple hours at best, normal for a few hours if ur really lucky, but most of the time, mostly feeling not all that good. Anyway, thats part of the story ur pill & ur bike tells me. Just hope u don't end up gettin busted for that pill (lol)

Hey Browndog,
Thanks, those were great words. I guess everyone has their own way of dealing with ones own personal addiction. We all share a certain commonality and yet have vast differences. I'ts part of being human.....

Good for you Lone Wolf . . . That's take a lot a strength and courage to do that. Stay Strong and Positive. Your doing an awesome job!
Congrates !!!! I am so proud of you !!
Thanks marina,, you are so cool. marina,,, coolest girl in class...
Lone wolf, I dont think people were staring at u or that u were paranoid, just maybe u felt guilty & sleep deprived. Anyway, u did it, & certainly made the best outcome possible & saw it for what it was. What more could anyone ask.
Thanks Bikerman, those are the words that ur type of idea brings out in me. In a sense its like drug addict art for people who maybe can't draw so well (LOL)

dear lone wolf, Be careful, I'd look at that as very risky business. Tempting your-
self like that too many times might prove disasturous. Almost as if if you did slip
doing what you did might make it ok or atleast expected, so no harm done.
I just ask you to be careful. I know alot about "relapse" and "relapse prevention"
not putting yourself in situations that can bring about relapse is a big part of
being smart in your own recovery.
I'm so glad you didn't screw up, I am very happy & proud for you.
Best to you wolf.
