What Are Alcohol Withdrawals Like?

I posted recently about my ex b/f, who I'm splitting up with due to the demon drink. Tell me why he has to drink so much. What is he so afraid of? I just want to understand why it was worth throwing our relationship away over. Coz I may be the one who's leaving, but it's due to his actions. Why should I spend my love and energy on him, when he won't even do it for himself? I think you can tell I'm still angry and upset.

go to al-anon meetings ASAP. You may not be with him anymore but it has had an affect on you still. Try it for a few meetings and you'll understand better.

I really don't feel like going to any meetings. I've invested enough time in that man. He took my care, and took my love, and he pissed it up the wall. Why should I spend time and emotional effort going to meetings to discuss him. I'm sick of him, and would rather do anything other than sit about talking about the s*** he's put me through. I want to forget all this. I would like to know why drink has such a hold over him though.

Those of you who are tackling this problem have my greatest respect. I wish you all happy lives.

Alcohol withdrawals....they can be as bad as seizures. I would get shaky, depressed and irritable the next day if I drank a lot the day/night before.
