my mom is witha man she has had in her life for about 7 years .i love him like a dad butt i think he's using some sort of drug.what makes me believe this is he drinks alot butt thats not a question.we all know is an alcoholic.butt recently my fiance' and i stopped in to see him while my mom was working one day and he had locked himself in his garage.and the only reason we even knew he was in there is becuz i have an aunt who lives with them as she has had alot of health troubles and can not live alone.my fiance had gone outside to find him and couldnt.when he came back in the house my aunt said knock on the garage door.he locks himself in there all the time.sure enough thats where my finance found him.he was drinking coffee and according to my aunt, he had been drinking only coffee.well he was slurring his words.he also did not want my fiance to go into the garage.i am very worried as his own father commited suicide.please can anyone help me.katrina in pa.

i would say slurring is a bog red flag, most definately i have never slurred from coffee, but i am an addict and have slurred plenty on pills. plus the fact he is hiding it. or trying to deny. coffee never made me slur. coffee made me bounce of the walls : ) hopefully more people will be along with better advice. i hope you get the answers you are loking for and pointed in the right direction. take care.

He also could be putting alcohol in the coffee, trying to hide it. Try to smell his cup when he's not looking.
