Please, please help me!! I just found a bag of pills in my daughters (17) room. They are both white round tablets, one has Watson 339 on it and the other one just says 5161. Does anybody have any idea what they are? Are they narcotics? Are they addictive? I want to know what they are and get the facts on them before I confront her. I caught her with Vicoden in the past and I'm scared for her.
The Watsons are vicodin. The other I'm not sure. Could be percocet. Get her an assesment as quickly as you can. Before she's not a minor anymore. Then you don't get to say.

The ones with 5161 - should be round? Vicuprophen, I believe.

My oldest is 17, and knowing what I know now, I'd do everything in my control to get to the bottom and put an end to whatever is going on. Easier said than done I know. But my heart goes out to you. Jim
Thank you all so much for confirming my suspicions. I would like to wait until after the holidays to confront her, but by then it might be too late. So, today after school I will do this, with love and understanding. I have made an appointment for tomorrow with an addiction specialist to speak to her. I hope I am doing the right things, it seems right in my heart. Bless you all, on your own struggles with this, keep fighting the good fight. Scaredmom
Call your local pharmacy and they can tell you what the pills are....
These things are VERY addictive and at such a young age, it could be even worse... millions of people take them for legitimate reasons, as the doctor ordered, and then cannot get off of them. Just taking them for 3 weeks can cause addiction in some people, so it's important that you confront her now.

The 5161 is Vicoprophen Marie is right. They are 7.5 of vicodin and 200mg of Ibprophen. I hope you can get the help she needs she is so young. Best of luck to you and your family!! Rae
Mom- the Watson 339 are Hydrocodne- totally addictive. Get her butt into a rehab place and do it fast
First talk to your daughter and see if you feel she is truly addicted to these pills. Sure a rehab is an answer, but what if she is just popping for a recreational high and not addicted? Tell her how addictive they are, perhaps show her sites like this to do some reading. But I am not so sure just throwing her in a rehab is necessary? On the other hand, if she is fine, that would scare her into not taking them anymore, I am sure.
I just think a discussion is in order, like you said you would do, before flying off the handle and putting the girl in rehab where she might not even belong!! Hell, I USED to take pills here and there for a buzz only. Only about a year ago did I start taking them to mask depression and give me "energy" for stressful situations. But I DID take them and DIDNT need them for approx. 7ish years? I just wish I was informed of the addiction they could cause before I was stupid enough to keep taking them as I did and got myself hooked. That would be the best to do, tell her how it will be if she continues to use.

You can always go to a different pharmacy that doesnt know you and tell the pharm you found these in doughter room and can they please tell you what they are. they will be happy to do so and wont call anyone and will give you pills back. I did this a couple times when I found pilld and wanted to know if they were any good for me. Best of luck Ray
Ramon, that's funny!! I used to find pills on the floor at the club I worked at.... I would never take anything without knowing what it was, so I would go to a drugstore and show them to the pharmacist and ask about them....
This was way before I had a problem with pills or any drugs... I just took them when we went out every now and then, so I considered it my good fortune to just "find" them like that... lol
