The methadone clinic I went to was called Charleston Area Treatment Center so I assume the treatment center your asking about is a methadone clinic. Do yourself a huge favor and stay far away from it.

Shelly
The pamphlet I posted is about a treatment center and what to expect in a rehab. I didn't really read the whole thing but I assumed that's what it was about. It explains to families what to expect and what substance abuse is. I don't think it was about a methadone center.
Didn't one of the members here ,JW49, successfully come off a ten year stint with methadone? I know it wasn't easy...but, methadone does not have to be a life sentence and he is living proof.

Rae too.

i thought a tx center was a place where one went to get treats!

I'm sorry. I just realized new people might not know if you click where it says pamphlet it will take you to a site of a treatment center pamphlet.

Hi Chopped liver!
It looks like the pamphlet is about a recovery center. Probably long term unlike a short term detox treatment.
Off the topic of the pamphlet, I to was on methadone. I was on it for 2 1/2 years and I came off it successfully. However, I do warn people about going on it because even though I am noe clean I feel like it was a big mistake going on it. And most people I've talked to who have either been on methadone or are currently on it regret every starting on it. There are better options out there then methadone.
33 I AGREE I THINK ITS TO EASY TO GET ON MD IHAVE TRIED REHAB 12 TIMES BUT TRYING TO LIVE IN CONST PAIN IS TOUGH ALLSO BEEN IN PAIN CLINICS TO I HAVE BEEN IN A CLINIC SEVEN YEARS COST A LOT BUT ITS BETTER THAN THE OTHER
Shelly, if you're still around, I wonder if you would tell me more about your experiences with methadone. I do see a lot of posts here about what a mistake it is, and I am apparently missing something...Why do you regret your time on methadone? Was it not an improvement over addiction?

I keep seeing everyone saying what a bad move it is...but not explaining why? I am six months now on methadone replacement and I thank God every day for another day to really live. My life is unrecognizable from the person I was, methadone is just an improvement in every way over addiction for me. Why do you see it as a mistake now? I certainly can see where being off of everything is better than being dependent on methadone, that is pretty obvious, who wants to be dependent on any drug if they have a choice? But I am so wondering about your, and others', experiences of methadone being a mistake, and why you feel that way.

Anyway, if you're around and want to discuss with me, thanks...this has been bothering me every time I log in here.
