What You Listening To?

Right people, to get through recovery we need to fill that gap/ hole that the persian rugs filled eh? One thing that keeps me sane nowadays( well, a wee bit ) is music and going to see bands. Went to see "the kaiser chiefs", "the view" and "the pigeon detectives", on fri and then went to see "the law" on monday....Immense!!

What is everyone listening to at the moment? What new bands do you recommend? C'mon, we've got peeps in the states( MsTres i know you'll have some good college bands) Scotland, England, Ireland and wales let me know your recomandations...

Saw Muse a couple of months ago, they were brilliant. Got Incubus tickets for september...not too sure I won't sell them though...
Going thru an oldies phase...got Otis Redding greatest hits...man can he sing and its one of them really well done double c.ds with photos and all a real treasure...talking of treasure im also listening to The Cocteau Twins c.d of the same name...Rum Sodomy&the Lash is getting a blast when Mcgowan had his act together.Recent stuff ..cant put Jamie Ts c.d down a real classic also Mark Ronsons c.d ..Version is a blinder.Im a reggae fanatic so some Lee Perry or King Tubby is never far away.Thats about it for this week.
Kev been listening to The Veiw a bit ..good stuff nice to hear a proper accent....Superstar Tradesman is a fave after the brilliant Scag Trendy...that video was a stand out ...i really felt for the lad in the end...funny but sad to....its a good one for all us addicts ..so folks just youtube The Veiw scag trendy and you will see one of the best videos of the year with a story we can all relate to.ATB.........Davey
Davey, in Barlinnie in Apr there was a video exclusive on channel 4, it was meant to be "the don" but it was "skag trendy". watching that video put chills through my body. The bit when he's half inchin' the video... many (sh*t) memories. It scared me, made me think of the things i've done to people....Class vid, though
just been gettin back into some old punk like"dead kennedys" but r other good bands like " reverand n the makers" or "s.o.a.d." and "graham coxon"...........really jealous that i couldn't go 2 leeds this year.. will make up 4 it next year..herm..
Herman did you watch it on the telly last night? I watched most of it, it was bouncin'. It had plain white t's and kate nash doing acoustic sets it was class. Peace,Kev
When I'm feeling down, nothing better than the wedding present! I was watching the video I made of The Proclaimers (LOL) the other week when I was in Scotland, and I keep singing 500 miles to my daughter coz she loved it! I like some good old fashioned bangin' house music to get down and dirty to. My little girl, she can tell everybody that she went to see The Orb when she was 4 months old. Is that cool or what? And I like that tune on the radio, I don't know who sings it "Truth be told, the truth be told/ I'm standing on my tippy toes, my tippy toes/ So tired of being worried about Ray/ They say the futures out to get you/ you know that I won't let you fall.

uh oh, baby wake. Better go...

love

".....truth be told the truth be told i worry what the future holds the future holds" Class Diff, eh? The Hoosiers sing it. They're playing in Fat Sams in Nov and the tickets are only 7 i'm getting two next week...can't wait! See what song i can't get out my head just now...Hey There Delihla, by the Plain white T's.. How much in love must he have been to write that?(aaahh) Brilliant song!
I tried to get tickets to see the levellers at this fest in Devon, but they sold out. I haven't been to a good old traveller fest for ages... not since the days of my mark II luton transit van, last seen enjoying it's retirement as a chicken shed in Carmarthen. Ahh, those days, they were a blast, but along came the criminal justice act and blew us all out of the water. But I've got my trusty talbot express motor home - it's 25 years old, but driving her takes me down the sweet annuls of time. All I've got to do now is paint her green and I could be right back there...

yeah, I like that delila song too

I've been listening to Scarlet fm (God help me!) whilst painting my house, and they play some right old s***e, but they played some hacienda type tunes today. Back in the day, eh? I almost started talking with a manchester accent... The past was good, but the future, well, it's like the last great wilderness, all unknown, just waiting to be discovered (unless it's out to get me! Who's gonna catch me when I fall? Hell, I don't need a safety net, I always fancied skydiving (LMAO!!!))

Don't get me started, I can feel a roll coming on, and you don't want me on a roll...

Too late, I'm rollin'!

Got a good one for you Kev, did ya see that thing about the Pentonville prison gig. I heard this interview with one of the band members (sorry can't remember which band!) but he was asked if he was doing the gig there because his mate Pete Dickheadoherty was banged up there once. His answer was so class! He said "no, not at all, I'm doing it for like, real people, not middle class pricks with loads of money who wear red hats, shag supermodels, do loads of drugs and never go to prison". I happened to be crossing the severn bridge at the time and a cheer was heard across two nations!

diff diff diffusion x
Didn't hear that comment but heard about the gig. It was for the charity " wasted youth" ( about highlighting young peoples suicides) The two bands were "dirty pretty things" and "the enemy". Pete, the guy is an enigma..I feel sorry for him in one breath, but in the other i think daft pr**k. I wouldn't wish the jail on anyone( well, apart from beasts n that) but the boy doherty is taking the piss. I've had bail 3 times in my life.. just got one of those faces i s'pose
Right i know you're on a roll.. what is all the names about? Like it!
Kev, I just get bored and have an over active imagination. It amuses me to keep thinking up new names. And I'd better say it, coz I hate taking credit where it's not due "Diffco da blind sister" was what my ex husband used to call me. Weird, I know, but, I'm a biker chick, and he was a biker, and into the whole brotherhood thing, and everybody was a blind brother/sister to him. And diff is what I decided to call myself when I was about 18 months old, and it stuck, coz 34 years later, I'm still Diff. And notice "biker chick" not bikers' chick. God I hate that. When I was in the isle of man this year for the TT, there were all these T-shirts, saying "Bikers' chick". I ain't no bikers' chick! I got a full bike license, and nobody owns this kid! Didn't see any bikers' d*** T-shirts! I want one that says "If you can read this, the stupid b****** fell off!"

I reckon I got one of those faces and all. Nobody is more amazed than me that I didn't go to jail for my many offences. I stood trial for robbery in Swansea crown a few years back. That was a total nightmare! Not guilty - the two sweetest words in the English language! And I got into a right state over my fines, and have been up in the magi's loads of times for lifting. But despite having a police file the size of war and peace and being arrested routinely on sight, and having my door kicked down by the law at least a dozen times on an early morning busting spree, I managed to exit my heroin career without one single drugs charge that stuck. Somehow the law always managed to bust me when I was on the bones of my arse, and didn't have so much as a 10 bag in the house! And the poor bastards knew full well that I was up and down the m4 to bristol 4 times a week, doing a shopping trip for half the dealers in a 30 mile radius. They just never got me when I was holding...The only tiny thing they ever had on me was finding a blim the size of a pea in my pocket - god I was gutted when they found that - I thought my clean sweep was over. But my ex-boyfriend kindly stepped up to the plate and told them I was wearing his jacket and had no knowledge of the blim in my pocket. So they couldn't even hang that on me! Sooo, never been down, and now I'm never gonna. I'm a proper person now - even got insurance on my vehicles!

Hey, kev, thanks for keeping me entertained tonight. It's been really nice. I think it's what I needed. Sometimes I like it when Him indoors goes all stroppy on me and ducks off to bed early, and I can just spend a whole evening doing my thang instead of watching crap on the tv with him.

I gotta tell someone - I just went up to check on the baby, coz she was making little grunting noises - I'd just plonked her down on my bed (we have separate rooms when he goes all weird on me) along with various detritus, one of my nighties, a babygro, a couple of blankets, one or two of her vests etc. Somehow, on her little baby travels round the bed (she's not crawling yet, but she's into rolling, big time), she'd gathered up everything and had completely buried herself underneath this big pile of junk. She was grunting coz the poor lamb couldn't move, she was so tangled up! A feed and a cuddle later she was right back to sleep again. She's such a funny little fish cake! I finally bought her a cot this week, so as soon as I move, she's being booted out of my bed, and not a minute too soon. She's a pain in the arse, coz she always wants to sleep where I'm sleeping, and no matter how many times I dump her on the other side of the bed, she's back nose to nose with me in no time. She's taken to sleep horizontally across the bed, instead of top to bottom. She's only about a foot and an bit long, but she can monopolise a double bed in a way that a 6ft, 17stone bloke would have trouble with!

love ya
