Whew!!!

Hi Everyone and thanks for the support. This morning was nerve racking. My alarm was set for PM and not AM so I woke up and hour late, but made it in time. The judge about crapped his pants when I walked up to the bench. We just played golf together about two weeks before the arrest. I could tell he felt terrible. I knew all the attorney's and employee's as they were one of my biggest accounts in my job (sold office supplies, printing, etc...for a local business). No one could look at me. They didn't know what to say. He accepted me pleading guilty to impaired driving which I am damn lucky because I blew a .31! My potassium was so low I didn't realize I had drank so much, just knew it was Saturday night and wouldn't be able to get anything more to drink until after 12:00 noon on Sunday. How pathetic is that? I look back at the whole situation now and really believe that it was some divine intervention that the whole thing went down that way. I've driven in that state so many times for so long and never once got batted an eye at. .31 and continued drinking...I would have been dead by 12:00 noon Sunday morning.

They were impressed that I already signed up for outpatient therapy and have an appt. on Weds. and am going to mtgs. I'll probably get an $800.00 fine and possibly probation and mandatory meetings. Fine. Just don't put me back in one of those cells. That was sooooo awful - 14 hours standing in other people's piss.

Oh! And I asked my attorney if reciting the alphabet backwards was normal and she started to laugh and said evidentally but she tried and couldn't do it either - sober or after a "few" Are we allowed to hyperlink video's on this site? If so, I have one of the funniest things I ever saw and ironically received days before my arrest. It's called the funniest DUI ever and this poor guy tried to recited it backwards. And I thought it was a joke.....

Zac, I need sleep after this long day but will look at the grateful thread asap. I have read some of them.

Today I am grateful for my new friends (thank you all again for checking in on me) and that my oldest son will be here for a few day visit for his 19th b-day and Thanksgiving.

Hey Newme

It"s just so cool to know you are okay and yeah divine intervention is alive and well in drinking as well as recovery and i forget to thank God for that, and i don't have to look far for examples of miracles.
Thanks Jill :)
