im just curious about why addicts lie ? is it through shame ? or is it just the case that you think if you admit it then your left with nothing ?

emz, so you'll leave us the heck alone.........so when we steal stuff to pawn you don't look directly at us.............so we can just keep using.
Figure it's kind of like when the cops say "Don't lie and I'll let you go. Just don't lie to me".............you tell a cop the truth he's still locking ya up.......might as well take your chances............some of it I think too is our own denial.

I'll just tell ya this..........if I was using and saying I was kicking from the subbies........and then ya found the needles.............which had been there for a long time.
What he knew they were there and has been clean and didn't get rid of them?

I lied because it helped. Many times i would not have got money had people KNEW it was going up my arm. I lied because the only thing i cared about was getting high again. I lied to stop throwing up, stop my nose from running, get my head stright. I stole for all the same reasons.
I never lied or stole just to be hateful or for the thrill of it. It became a necessary truth "or at least that's what i told myself" in order to feel okay.

They lie to try and make there life that little bit easier. To keep us off there back, to get that hit in peace.
