Saturday morning- A friend and I spent the entire day scrubbing kitchen and bathrooms. I thought the kitchen cabinets were junk but surprise! after someone cleaned them they look wonderful. This would be nice if there wasn't tarp hanging all over them because we didn't have time to paint before we moved. No refrigerator-no stove. Scrubbing floor was waste of time. Saturday night can't move due to every muscle in body screaming out in pain.
Sunday morning-I thought I had a lot packed but didn't realize how much useless crap I had accumulated in 3 years. Too late to go thru it/pack it all. Hubby decided to prime kitchen walls on day of move. Still no stove. Fridge won't fit thru door. Two o'clock alcoholics that are helping with move finally show up. Too much talking, not enough work. Three o'clock my friend and fellow packer decides she's going to a meeting in 4 hours and much get ready now. Mattress does not fit frame. People are walking on new refinished wood floors and I am freaking out. Why can't men kick off shoes at door. Boxes in bedroom everywhere. Can't find anything. Dogs want to play or bite everyone. They don't want to move in spite of huge yard to pee in. Lots of new fun smells but want old yard. Nine o'clock, no hygiene products, still at old house. No milk for coffee in the morning, hell, can't find coffee maker. 10:30-found clothes for morning. Hubby back from trip to old house to retrieve hygiene products and milk. Found coffee maker AND coffee-quite proud of myself for that one. 11:00 Everyone settled in to bed. Dogs are comfortable. Hubby is snoring. I can't sleep because I am mentally unpacking and putting away and thinking of all that still has to be done.
Monday morning. Hate work. Hate boss. Hate hubby. Hate dogs. Can't smoke. Life sucks. Drive to work late. Honk at everyone, finger flying. Get to work. Listen to whining. Snarl at everyone. Beg a cig from client. Choke and cough. Text from BFF. Snarl at her too. And after work I get to unpack. yay. AND have more useless crap to pack and move. I think I should just throw it all out and buy new but no more money. Hell, who needs office furniture and a stove anyway?
so that was my weekend. How was yours?
My HP told me to test Katbird's patience just a little tad more today. Whine, whine whine. LOL be GRATEFUL it isn't wine wine wine. You have a NEW house..get that frown off your face and smileeeeeeeeeeee :)
OMG, you, my friend are as self-centered & selfish as it gets right now.....
How about focusing on what you do have rather than on all your high expectations of everything?
You just bought your own home, pool included, with new furniture for the living room (and I'm going to LMAO when Spike pees on the new couch).
You have the rest of your life to unpack.
You have a refrigerator & stove and I'm sure Mike will figure out a way to get them in the new kitchen.
You have a very tolerant hubby and from what I read, he's actually doing work to the new home instead of laying on a couch or sitting in a bar watching football...
(btw, I was at the Oakland Raider game yesterday and was grateful there were no earthquakes as we were on the 3rd story of the stadium).
You have friends that show up to help, even if they do talk to much, be grateful for that.
You're pups will adjust to the change, they're just uncomfortable because you took them from their home. Have a little patience with them...You're blessed Spike is still alive after he went sky diving in the Keys without the parachute...
In this economy, you should be grateful you have a job to go to every Monday morning and that they pay you, even if you do growl at them.....
And the most important thing is your clean & sober. That's it, you are clean & sober and as a result of that, you get to moan & groan today about all your high quality problems.....
Wow, in 12 days, it's your birthday....when all else fails, go back 8 years and remember what it was like.....
~~oh, and I forgot to say, awwwwwww, you poor thing, BFF~~
Big smooches...

If you REALLY loved me you would come help me unpack. <pout>
PS We pay something like $250 to directtv so Mike can watch stupid football and he hasn't seen a game yet. Go Bears. BUT I MAY let him watch a game this Sunday. Maybe.

If I could afford it, I would be there. But since I cannot, you can text me to complain and I'll show sympathy for you....
Mike missed a great Bears game yesterday, 48 to 41 and I heard it was a great game. I think you ought to at least let him watch the Bears game next week, it's the least you could do for the poor guy......

Just watching would be ok but when he wants the surround sound on? I mean. come on. It's only football.
Don't be selfish....go shopping or go lay by the pool and let him enjoy it any way he wants to and you'd hate living with me during a NASCAR race...LOL, I have the TV so loud, I'm trying to feel it....
Gawd. You really ARE a b****, aren't you?
LOL
Just Kidding (not) am so (maybe) could've been (nuh uh) okay
I think everything should have been put away Sunday evening--why you slackin' so bad? Lazy? Sheesh, Any good alcoholic knows if you can't drink it, f*** it!
Or maybe that was MY mantra?
Relax and immerse yourself in the chaos--Remind me again who's idea it was?
Stay sobah!

Great reading for gratitude because not once did i read you wanted to drink:)
Motorways and highways are a great place when im thinking for others:)
F the rest that can be sorted when a meeting pauses the pressure and you inventory your day as you have done.
good on ya Kat
light and love Zac

I think you have many good reasons to be tired and cranky. Please don't get used to it though. I wouldn't want to have too, start a collection for massage therapy, professional painters who might look similar to those Chicago Bears. Then you might be tempted to whine, or use your female charm upon them to unpack everything for you. Then you could just lay by the pool getting tan while most people are wading through the puddles.
Really there are no police policing you to get everything done in one day, one week, or even one month. Do a little at a time. Remember one step at time. Enjoy the pool and the football game. Don't push yourself to hard. It all works out in the end. Be nice to Ms. Katbird. Take time to enjoy your hard work.
Congrats again on your new home.

Why do you think I haven't moved in 10 years nor plan to?
Never ask friends to help you move or you will no longer have friends.
Keep your cool, keep your job.You have a mortgage now.

Well, the icky part of moving has passed and this morning I got up, had coffee by the pool, watched the news and life is calming down. I asked a few friends to help me move, Tim, and now they don't answer my calls. I can't figure out why? Now I can call the rest of my friends to borrow money, right?
