Will Xanax Help With W/d's

I feel so tired. No energy all I think about is how much better I'll feel if I can get some more Vicoden. Will Xanax help with W/D's. Take my mind off of thinking about the big V day and night. Help!!

Hang in there, BHF! Try to avoid the temptation to substitute with xanax or any other drug. You've come this far, why create more problems, right? You'll begin to feel better (physically) very soon -- the fatigue, achiness, fand flu symptoms should recede, with perhaps some lingering sleep problems. Have you developed a plan to fight those mental cravings / urges? Unfortunately, those websites are only a click away..... you'll need some face-to-face support and honesty. Much support to you, and stay close. M.

My advice - STAY AWAY from the xanax. They are highly addictive and WAY WORSE and DANGEROUS to w/d from - far worse than opiates. I have to take them (wish I never did) for Severe Panic Disorder. I've been taking them for almost 20 years. I never abused them, but if I dont have them, I will have to go to the hospital.

There are alot of things on the market today to help to "calm or relax" yourself. I dont know if you've read of anything on here already or not, but to name a few there's Kava Kava, Valerian Root, Chamomile Tea or other "decafinated" teas -also you can try taking hot baths with epsom salts to soothe aching muscles.

I just wouldnt recommend anyone to get started on xanax. Are you just beginning to go through W/Ds - sorry if I missed your other post. Wish you all the best. Hang in there.

Blessed, my advice about Xanax is RUN LIKE HELL. If you are having a hard time with wd's, there are other benzos you can take that have a greater half-life, much less addicting. That's up to your Dr. to decide, but my guess is the last thing he would give you is Xanax. I was on Xanax 7 years, quit cold turkey and this opiate stuff is nothing compared to that. Ya, the opiate is hard too, but Xanax can kill you when you wd. And it REALLY messes up your head. You actually feel like you are going insane. You CANNOT do it without a Doctor. I wouldn't wish Xanax on my worst enemy.

No, you guys i know that xaxan is addicting and all, but they used it on me to detox, so my opion is that if it is used properly that ways the proplem, i am on Klonopin , and i am just fine! just my thoughts, hehe

Thank you for all of your support. This is day three of no pills. I have not doctor hopped or ordered pills from my infamous websites. I'm exhausted, sore and have absolutely no energy. The hot showers help. I also have been taking motrin for the headaches. My poor kids...They are out of school for Thanksgiving and their mom just goes from the couch to the bed, I've read all your post and am living on the hope that it gets better. My energy level, my cravings. I don't sleep well.
