I have no idea how bad the withdrawal will be after 8 days of oxycodone use...I got down to 2 a day..got thoroughly disgusted and flushed the rest...no choices now..easier mentally for me...anyone have any idea of what I can expect...appreciate it...Sharonn

Sharonn, I thought that you told us you were taking hydrocodone, not oxycodone . Which is it? We should be able to help you if you will be more specific about which medication you have been taking.

If it has been only 8 days and you were taking oxycontin or percocet?The oxy will be rough but if it was percocet and for only a week you should be good to go in a couple of days.Did you follow the dosing directions?I am not being a smartarse it is important.If you were not taking more than like four a day that is usually what is prescribed and you were only taking them prn then it will not take as long to get them out of your system .Drink ALOT of fluids to flush your system too. your worst day will probably be the 2nd day instead of the 3rd or 4th just rtry to get as much rest as you can before the insomnia hits you and you should feel better in about four days.
As many times as we have all been thru the w/ds I always wanted to be reassured that I was going to be ok after about four days .It took alot for you to do the flush deal .Of all the years I used I only flushed pills once .So obviously you want this bad!! If you just try and stay busy you will feel a little better.I know you have been thru this before and you know it is going to suck but if it is any consilation Thank God it was only for a week .I'd be glad to help in anyway .You can do this!!!!

ctink,hey i thought i would let you know that there is no differnce as far as the narcotic that oxycontin has the same as percocset,they both have oxycodone in it,the only differnce is perks have acetaminophen in it,so believe me when i tell you it is equael in every way includeing the withdrawl............vinny.

When I relapsed, I took 8 Lortabs in 3 days - I know that's less than 8 days but no W/D's - I hope you don't have any - I think you have pretty much stuck with the dosage which should also make it easier.

Was not saying that both are not oxycodone but the majority of the oxycontin that I took were at least 20 mg per pill I realize that they mak the oxycontin as low as 10 mgs in dose and am very familiar with both of them .Not trying to start some big problem with anyone on the difference between the two.Its all good I was just trying to let Sharron know that regardless if she has only been taking the pills as directed for 8 days the withdrawls will not be AS severe then if she had been on them long term .No arguement here.
I've found that Lemonade works wonders for cleaning out the toxins...

First, It was hydrocodone 7.5's(3 weeks ago) Took a couple and flushed them..Then tried the motrin 800 and Elavil...no pain relief...this time, due to high liver enzymes...oxycodone 5 mgs...4 X a day..got down to 2 a day...slight w.d.'s...so here is the correct info. I hope...Thanks, S. P.S. Took them for about 8 days..only took 4 a day over weekend(shingles)..still on xanax(helps the sleep) Thank you dear friends..Right now I feel like RUMP...but the shingles are better.

I had terrible w/d's from the xanax so I would not quit both at the same time and also I dont think you could quit the xanax cold because it can cause seizures.But you didnt say anything about stopping them,if you ever decide to be careful.Hope you get to feeling better soon.Cristina

Sharon...you should be ok after about 72 hours. Just hang in there honey. Don't worry so much about the w/d's as about what you need to do to stay off the pills from now on. You did everything right this time, I'm really proud of you.
You'll be tired and a little touchy for a couple of days so just remember to drink lots of fluids (Janet's lemonaide sounds wonderful) and get out and walk. Hot baths an hour before bed will help you sleep.
