Dear chuckjensen,
If you look at the subject/thread: "Help me with this please," started by Josh, myself and several others replied to withdrawal symptoms and remedies. I wrote about 8 paragraphs (posted under my name: "Bender") which I think will answer your question. If, however, you would like me to re-type the information, or if you have other questions which are not answered by the other posts in the thread started by Josh, just ask. I'd be more than happy to offer other help.
Welcome to the board and this forum, respectively. Congratulations on day 7 of opioid withdrawal. You are definitely past the worst part. Opioid withdrawal, especially with the high dosage and type of medication you were using, usually lasts between 7-10 days. The worst days, for most people, are 2-4. You still have a few days to go; however, as I said, you have gotten through the worst, and for that I commend you. A secondary syndrome has also been medically documented. This secondary syndrome lasts between 3-6 months, and includes symptoms such as: (1) Fatigue; (2) Anxiety; (3) Muscular aches and pains; and, (4) Insomnia. These symptoms, however, can be helped by OTC medications, herbs, vitamins, and prescription medications. In the post, I have listed several of these remedies for the acute and secondary withdrawal syndromes. You made a great choice by wanting to stop using opioids, and coming to this forum will be invaluable. The support that you will find here is priceless. There are so many people who have gone through similar experiences, and we are all in this together.
We'll all be here for you, Charlie. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Ben

Hi Chuck,
Seven days is great -- I've heard Oxys are harder to w/d from than hydro, and it sounds like the physical symptoms last longer. You sound resolute and determined, real courage. Bender gave you a great thread (and his post) to read for suggestions that may ease the discomfort of withdrawal. I wish there were a way to eliminate those physical symptoms completely, or at least guarantee you a good night's sleep. But it will come. Hang in, M.

Dear Charlie,
I'm so sorry to hear that your son passed away. I can empathize with that extremely difficult situation, though. My longtime girlfriend of 5 years, Kelly Beth, passed away from brain cancer on January 10th, 2001. Although this destroyed me, I know that Kel watches over me, and is my guardian angel, also.
I know you can do it, Charlie. As you said, you've done this before. I'll help you in anyway possible. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Charlie.
