Withdrawl Help

I have been taking lortab 10 for about a year now. I was up to 12 a day and have weaned myself down to 3. I heard of this medicine to help the withdrawl symptoms, it is called suboxone. I took 1 this morning and have had no withdrawl symptoms and have taken no lortabs today. Has anyone heard of this and do you think it is a good idea?
Hi love 2,
My husband is on sub......I will try to help you out, but I need to know something did your doctor give you this......Cause they should have told you all the in and outs......I will if you need to know about it..
Tina

I hope I didn't scare you.....My husband takes sub....so do others on here. It does take away the withdrawls, you start taking it like 24 hours into withdrawls or else it will start them right away full blown....Most people take it for a month or so start out with a higher dose then ween down and then stop. John was on and off in 11 days feeling pretty good.....(John where are you ) Don't know how long my husband will be on but he taking a low dose now. You can have withdrawls from the sub when you stop....from what I read that has a lot to do with how long you have been on it and how well you weened yourself down....but most times it is not as bad as coming off what ever you were taking to being with.
I hope this helps you,
Take care,
Tina
no i got it from a friend
Don't know how good of an idea that is.....I posted above as much as I know......I kinda thought you got it from someone.....This is not a medicine that I think anyone should take without a doctors advice....You have to control your dose...ween down......Sub has a long half life, meaning it stays in your body longer....
Love2, I wouldnt take it without the supervision of a doctor. Your probably going to need more than you have. If you take it too soon the withdrawals will be worse. If you already took one, it has a long half life and will block any other opiates you take. Call a sub doc and get on a program if your interested.
Well I was going to take 1 a day for 3 days during the worst part of the withdrawals and then 1/2 a day for 3 days. What does a long half life mean? Thanks for the advice. What do you think about that plan?
I still think you should not be taking it without a doctor regulating your dose.....
Half life means it hangs in you system longer......
If they are 8mg pills you are probably going to have withdrawl when you stop.......John you around......could use some help here!
Long half life means it breaks down slowly in the body, I think the half life of sub is 37 hours. You can try doing it with what you got I suppose its better than taking your other DOC.

Keep us posted to how you feel, Im interested to see how it goes.

I just don't want to go see a doc, I live in a small town you know! Thank ya'll for the advice and I will keep you posted on how I am. I have not had a lortab in over 24 hours now and I am doing pretty goof thanks to sub.
