Wm3-& You Got Problems??

Just saw something on tv that really freaked me out :about those kids in West Arkansas, the West Memphis Three--accused of murder,no proof, just innuendo & rumours of Satanisim.Convicted:Life, one on Death Row. I think I get too wrapped up in my own daily struggle to maintain, not use, etc. but when you see something like this, where these people are @ the "mercy" of the powers that be, it sorta makes you realise how lucky you are, your struggle is within yourself.YOU have the power (to get/stay sober)as opposed to being powerless like these kids are.Guess what I am trying to say is:you may be doing it tough, but there's a lotta people out there w/ just as big, if not bigger problems.I am ashamed of my own self-absorbtion,especially as my problem is one I have done to myself--no one but me made me an addict.I am also just so upset about this wild injustice;thought I'd share it.Whatever...
Dear Alaska, I hear ya on the self-absorbtion thing, but look at it like this. If this was another human being I know you would go way out of your way to save them. Help save them anyway. You'd give it your all.

We're worth it, and I think our guilt holds us down.

I missed that show. Had to be interesting. Fortunately as you say we're in control of us, and no judge, jury or Church is going to convict us. Although places we put ourselves could get us some time. Time for being weak, and feeble minded addicts that is. Not an excuse, but it happens.

Love you Alaska. We sure do. I value your opinions, and learn from you. I'd go out on a limb to help you save you. You're doing a great job though yourself.
Hang tight, Sister.

BTW I replied on your sun sign on another thread. I gotta look for it. I'll bumpitty bump it. Scorpio, you're a Phoenix rising. This is your rebirth.
The show I saw was "Paradise Lost"--it's been out for a while,it was made when the trials happened back in 1993/94. It only screened here in Sydney the other night on cable.I've since gone to the Website & found out more, what the latest is on the case, appeals, etc. These kids were convicted, basically, for their Lifestyle--black clothes, Stephen King novels, Metallica cd's...by overzealous hard-shell Baptists. It's a bloody disgrace. And sets a very dangerous precedent. West Memphis Three World Awareness Day is June 3. Google west memphis three, go to the first site on the list, find out more. Write, respectfully, to the Governor of Ark.The site gives his address. I am going to.If they can convict THEM for their lifestyle, think what they could do to any of US, w/ our pasts...
wow, that is scary... Me and my friends make jokes about that kind of stuff all of the time. In reality I'm more of a buddhist than anything else, but I also study Kundalini meditation and christianity, and believe in god or something of that form too! One of the main jokes between my friends and I is satan worship and serial murder. My interest in serial killers is predominatley scientific (did I spell any of that right?) I am fascinated by the human brain and as far as murderers go I can't imagine what on earth would possibly make a human being so sick that they could take anothers life, so I read alot about them and criminal psychology; I was going to take criminial justice as a major in college before I started using and trying to go to college at the same time! Ha!! Well, now that I've found my passion in life (art) makes me look like more of a weirdo. Anyway as I was saying we make jokes about the killers alot (not the victims!) And that's scary that someone can be convicted of murder on that alone!!!
Troop, it's worse than you think--these kids were NOT crims, NOT killers, NOT anything but average American adolescents w/ all the attendant minor hassles w/ family, chicks, etc. They listened to Metal, were bored to tears in their tiny town. The place is a heavily-Baptist influenced communtiy,& one man in town, a Juvenile Justice Pariole officer, got it into his head these kids were into Satan. Then this heinous crime occurred. There was also no blood, no weapon ,& an extremely hinky stepfather of one of the victims. The whole case stinks, absolutely, is terrifying if you really think about the implications. I too am interested in Criminals, etc. I bet if we compared notes you & I would've read a lot of the same stuff. But these kids were RAILROADED & ...I can't get it outta my mind...
Thats totally wrong!! Man that infuriates me!!! It's much worse, but reminds me of that poor kid in GA who when he was 17, slept with his 15 year old girlfriend and got put away for 10 yrs. and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life! A ton of people (myself included) signed a petition to the state to get him out but the state rejected his appeal even though they passed a law to make this kind of relationship legal!! They didn't include a grandfather clause. Bull. makes me so freaking pissed!
