Wondering If Anyone Feels The Same Way?

Ok for those of you who are n't familiar with my addiction I have been on lortabs for 5 yrs on decided I was done with the little demons(pills) and tring very hard to taper off.
I'm doing good I think. I was up to 60 mg give or take a pill every now and then..depending on how many I had.
Today I woke up and popped 15 mg first off. Then 4 hours latter just toof 15 mg more. I'm done for the day. I was jsut wondering if anyone else has felt sweaty, anxious, sad, energetic and tired all at one time. That's how I feel. I told my husband and he and I went to the store and got some movies and that helped so much. Can withdraws happen even when you are tappering of of them? Also I have the habit of not eating when I'm taking the pills and today I ate first thing . So I"m really tring..Does anone have any similar stories. I hope I can help everyone as much as they have helped me....
ya if your body doesnt get as much as its used too you will feel withdrawls but its not as bad as cold turkey 60 mg is that the same as 12 pills a day?
i think the getting sweaty is one of the reasons i'm not addicted to pain pills, i can't stand being sweaty and i always get that way when i take them
Looking2Bclean,

Every time we cut back on our pill intake we feel some effects of w/d.

I would recommend the following:

Have a goal to get down to 10 mill in a day and be able to stay there for 4 days. Then make your final break.

To get down to 10 mill will require effort and some pain. Cut a dose by 5 mill every 4 days. Try to take alot of small doses. Even if you have to cut a pill in quarters. Its better to take a 1/2 every 2 hours then a whole evry 4 hours. We need to get away from the rollercoaster of ups and downs. This way it will be a steady slighly uncomfortable pace . You should not take enough to get high. Just enough to eliminate "SOME " of the sickness. Save a piece of a pill for the evening so to help you sleep.

AFTER you are on 10 mill for 4 days then you can make your break. You need to prepare for this by getting some over the counter medicine and preparing the neccessary people, and getting time off work.

There are already some posts here about which medicine are helpful to ease w/d.

I would take
1) advil , tylenol and Flue aids For aches.
2)Vitamin B6 and B12
3)Amodium for the runs
4)Sleeping aid. If you can get some valium or zanax that would be save to use for a week without addiction worries.
5)Hot soaks for the leg shakes at night.
6)Plenty of water

Some people have recommended potasium for leg shakes and midol for mood help.

I am probably missing a few tips . Others will add there own personal favorites.

You may need to take some of these medicines during your taper also. Just dont take the Valium or zanax . Save that for the final break.

Prepare the neccesary people that you will be out of sorts for awhile and may even have some depression for a couple weeks.

Rent plenty of movies and Pray.

Good luck

Jake
That was good info, Nothing would help my leg shakes so I didn't sleep hardly at all for two weeks, I finally went to a small time Dr (really nice) and confessed everything, she gave me a two week supply of Ambien and I slept for the first time in two weeks, ALL NIGHT! It was good, I am now on night 5 and thinking about not taking the medicine. Hopefully the leg shakes will be gone.

I would add that I excercised a lot! Everytime I got that tight feeling in my chest. I would even do it in the early morning hours, hey, I was up!
Thank you guys sooooo much! I just went through A cring spell and mad spell and happy spell all in about 30 min. I love all of the suggestions and I'm goin gto practice them. It's like all of you know me. I like what was said about the tapering but not taking enough to make you high as I have been tapering to 35 mgs a day but taking 15mg at a time. So I just read these posts to my husband and he is going to take my pills and give them to me in 5 mg sessions. It works out perfect cause these are 5mg a piece anyway. I'm also going to get all of the medications recommended. I have klonopin for anxiety that I hae taken for 5 years also. I have been very fortunate that I haven't abused those. Some of the hardest things for me are the night sweats and I guess hot falshes and tossing and turning half the night. And mood swings. My husband is so proud of me though. He is being very supportive. LOve and godbless...hope to talk to you soon.
