Wtf? Virginia Tech

Man this world is f-ed up
I've been praying for all those kids...Makes my problems seem very petty in light of what those students, teachers, rescue personnel & all their families are going through right now....

Let's keep praying for all of them Jeff...it's such a tradegy....

Take care,
Stacey
Sweet Jeff ~

This is the saddest day our state has ever experienced. We're still waiting to hear from some of my son's friends who attend VT. You don't know this town that Virginia Tech is located in. It's small town U.S.A. and not equipped to handle trauma of this magnitude.

As I sit here with tears in my eyes and grief in my heart, as do all my fellow Virginians, there are no words I can think to say.

Love ~

Sammy

I've heard this is the worst in US history as far as shootings go.

Lots of broken hearts and prayers tonight....
Hi Sammy:

I pray nobody you know has been hurt. Man its so sick what goes on in the real world.

You have a good night.

Jeff
Yes Stacey - I heard the same.

My son just logged off of facebook and we know of 3 of his friends who are ok from posts earlier today. We still are waiting to hear from 16 more. However, there is no internet access now for these young people and I'm now hearing (as I guess anyone who has turned their TV on in the country) that there was little to none security or alarm system in place to warn the students after the first two students were found shot. I don't understand this and wonder why the Tech officials didn't have some kind of plan in place. Why was this area not cordoned off to all (on campus and commuting) after the first two murders? Two hours went by and students were allowed to go to classes with no notice of what had happened at 7 this morning!

There was an evacuation in the building where I work today. The Virginia Department of Taxation is located on one of the floors there and an envelope was received that contained a white powedered substance. There was more security in place with Hazmat and other police officials for an envelope containing a white powder than these students who went through this horrendous massacre.

I just don't know...and don't understand.

Sammy-
And so once again we are all collectively wondering " Why do bad things happen to good people "?
Sammy, I am very sorry for what you are going through. Having read several of your posts, I think there will be people coming to you for your wisdom.
I pray for us all. Gracie

Thank you for your most kind sentiments. I guess I'm just aimlessly typing trying to put some rhyme to the reason. I do that sometimes to help me come to some type of acceptance. And sometimes there is no rhyme, nor is there a reason. Thanks for letting me type and responding.

I failed to welcome you to this awesome family here at ARG. Welcome my new friend, and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hugs and tons of encouragement to you.

Love ~

I think what happened at Virginia Tech is what is happening to this county. It is being currently destroyed by this administration. I think this branches out to all members of society. I have some radical ideas. I wish not to share them on here, because people would think I am insane.

I don't really think that this depicts society as a whole. It's just one nut with a gun. unfortunately, a cold heart and warped mind is what a killer possesses. His instrument for destruction can be anything, but often times guns are easier to possess. I for one, live in Texas and remember the shooting at the luby's in Killeen. We have conceal carry ordinance in Texas and if that were to happen again that shooter would have had several guns pointed right back at him. I don't know if that is truly the right thing...could have caused more destruction and heartache or could have saved lives. The statistics are unclear. The real tragedy here is that there were no armed security guards on duty in those halls.
So sad. This why I homeschooled for awhile.
