I am tapering off of oxycodone. I also am prescribed xanax. However I don't really like xanax cause it makes me sleepy. I used to love it, but now I really don't all that much. I am prescribed to take 2 xanax a day. However, I take it only as needed, which is about one .5 every other day, I was wondering with such a small dose that I take, if I decided to stop taking it all together, would I have any withdrawl symptoms. I have heard if you are withdrawing from opiates, you may be inclined to start using benzos, however when I withdrawl I already am tired and have no energy and using a "downer" doesn't seem appealing to me, especially having a baby to take care of I don't see how i could function properly.
Can you have bad withdrawl symptoms from taking such a small dose, or do I have nothing to worry about. I've been taking them for almost a year.

STAY away from Xanax.... it is very addictive. Ask your doctor about putting you on Seroquel (works like Xanax without the party), and Clondine to keep your BP stable or at least to help while going through w/d... good luck! Shabee

Gosh... i am not sure how it would affect you... but you might consider talking to your dr about it before you ct it. But i do think it is wise getting off of it. Love and God Bless,Bri :)
Yes, make sure that you talk to your doctor about coming off of even that small amount of Xanax before doing it cold turkey.. You can start to shave a small amount off of them everyday or everytime that you take one to get off, but they are dangerous and even a small amount can cause you serious problems.
