A year ago yesterday I was at my bottom. A year ago today I felt like I had been freed. One year is not long, but it's a start.
Next week I will be celebrating my birthday for the second time clean. 2 birthdays, no pills?? Used to be birthdays were all about pills...I'd even get pills FOR my birthday, lol. (not very funny though right?)
This year my husband begged me to open my present early, and after days of refusing I finally caved in. He bought me a laptop! Something we can't afford, but something he had planned and thought through and saved up for me.
I know dates are not important, but especially since my date is close to my 'other' bday it's hard not to notice. Plus it's a YEAR! I'm constantly repeating myself, but there are so many new people here that I wanna just let everyone know about my story, and your stories, and how this board is such a beautiful group of people inside and out.

The majority of you have already talked me up real good and almost made my head explode the other day, but ya'll are like family to me. I love that I can get online and have a place of people that I know, and that I can be open, honest, and talk with.

You know How I feel Stacy. Very proud of you and extremely grateful of that one night. You have no idea how you helped then and as II watch you grow? Its very important to me personally.

Your a special woman with one of the cutest toddlers I have seen since my little girls were the same age of Kaytlin. Enjoy it cause trust me before you BLINK? there gone.

God I love her very much. And the little one? exact opposite a love child. Time will tell how she turns out. Not as smart --Book smart but very street smart like her Dad.

So many times, I think, as users....we were just as addicted to the drama and chaos that went along with a life of never really being clear. That feeling being as important as the feeling of being high.
You set a powerful example for young people Stacey...I hope you know that. (You set a powerful example for all people, but...) Sometimes young people just cannot see their way clear in the world, and they feel so powerless. You can and do show them that the way out begins with one foot in front of the other!
I am so happy things are going so well for you. Your family deserves the very best...and it seems you are getting it! Again, congratulations!
