Hello,
Just wanted to share about a great resource. I have been working a 12 Step program for about a year, struggling with Al Anon issues and an eating disorder. I could probably admit to the addictive use of alcohol as well but anger and inability to eat properly are my top two at present.
At any rate, I found this program, Yoga of Recovery. Now this is not about doing a headstand or twisting into a pretzel even though the physical postures make me feel better and strong, but it's about Yoga philosophy, Ayurvedic medicine and 12 Steps. The woman that leads the workshop is a dynamo and is a sincered practitioner of all three systems (Yoga, Ayurveda and 12 Steps) and is working her own honest 12 step program. She travels all over so check her website: www.yogaofrecovery.com.
For fellow Californians, she's in Los Angeles May 1-2 2010 and in Grass Valley in Aug 2010. If you have questions let me know. For me this program greatly complements my 12 step work.
Peace,
Shakti
